'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I had a rough night sleepwise, too. Maybe it's something in the air, or what?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I can't look at Fassbender, or see stuff he's in--for the same reasons as William Hurt. Their personal behavior (partner abuse) spoils any performance for me.

Oh, I was not aware of that. Ugh.

When is "That's her" the correct answer to any question?

When you are speaking colloquially.

Our wings are not tired.

After following this conversation for a time, in the future if someone asks, "Is that ita?" the answer will either be "Yes" or "No". Not that's her, or it is her, or it is she, or any other option that potentially will incur the wrath of the grammar police.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

After the festival yesterday we ended up having dinner with some friends we hadn't seen in a good while. At one point we were talking tv shows, and Arrow came up. She's several eps behind, so I had to restrain myself from divulging character fates when she was wondering if the show would bring in other characters associated with them in the comics and such. Still, a nice evening.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

It is too early in the day for me to be this discouraged by the amount of stuff I have to do today. Some of it will not get done, self, and that is fine!

information libertarian

I am totally overwhelmed by the volume of stuff in my house. I kind of want to abandon all possessions and go live in a cloister or something.

That is frequently tempting.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

When you are speaking colloquially.

I resent that wholebrained and wholetonguedly, and decamp to the progressive descriptivists.

I honestly can't think of a more reflexive absolutely incorrect sentence. I've said its equivalent hundreds and hundreds of times by now, but I only think about it when someone answers the phone by saying "Yes, this is she." Say "It's me," for fuck's sake. You TV writers (Dr Who's decimators aside) get everything else wrong.

tl/dr: If you think I'm gonna stop saying it, you've got another think coming.

I hope I'm not being a favouritist, but I have read rumours of Fassbender being domestically abusive, but I haven't read enough. I hope that's not me being shitty and shallow. I used to love the Lethal Weapon guy, and now I can't even remember his name, his case was so clear cut. People like Sean Penn, Chris Brown, the butt toilet wipes guy, Christian Slater...I know it's naive to trust the legal system, especially where the rich and famous are concerned, but convictions hold more weight with me--I am admittedly very curious about the Fassbender incident(s). Dropped charges? I don't know what to think, and I'd rather not hate if I can avoid it.

Ha! I can't believe I just said I'd rather not hate. I hate everything. But sometimes unreal avatars of physical attractiveness and acting talent--well, I want to see them in a court being judged and juried for many of their accusations (it really doesn't help that he knows (AFAIK) how not to be an offensive moron in public statements).

And, lord, if anyone gets racial on the "WHY DOES CHRIS BROWN STILL GET HATE???" someone needs to show them Sheen. They both get work, but I don't think their reps are rehabbed. I do definitely believe that the black man (person) is at a disadvantage when it comes to the courts of law and public opinion, but sometimes I'm good with staying mad at obviously horrible things.

He won't be playing my kid's bat mitzvah, that's for sure.

In unrelated news, I don't know if I slept last night. I am on as much painkillers as I dare before the big D comes, but I haven't had period cramps that battle past mirtzapine, methadone, lidocaine patches and a fuck of a lot of controlled breathing this way.

Random ita pain fact: When *something* hurts really badly (injuries not included) I get referred pain to my quads. Which makes me want to scrape them off--but headaches, backaches, period pain, toothaches--if they're bad enough to want to shut me down, my legs go too.

I need to watch Losers after Orphan Black this morning. And find that damned heating pad. Or three. Yes, probably all three will be best.

Referred pain is an evil gift with purchase. Do not like.

OK, I am going to go to the gym and attempt to swim. Here I go.

I would never stop saying it! But I just don't think there's a defensible argument for it to be found in the Rules of English Grammar.

I also confess to have made my peace with separating the person's work from their personal life, possibly mostly because of Chris Brown. I truly believe he's a terrible person, but still enjoy some of his songs.
