Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I would be happy not to have random strangers talk to me.

Now I have visions of chasing Connie down yelling "One more sentence! I just need one more sentence for my quota today!"

If people get muttery and terse, well then, it's no fun. Why would I want to do that?

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Introvert that I am, I don't necessarily engage people whenever I have the opportunity, but when I do the zipless conversation comes pretty easy. Strangers can be very relaxing that way.

I managed to get some Jell-o mixed up and into the fridge. That was seeming beyond me for a while there, so yay. I don't think I'll get my 3-mile run in today, though. Boo.

Time for Ginger Ale.

Exactly. No commitment, brief sharing about t-shirt/scarf/thrifting.

Put at least one seat between us, and I'll consider it.

And not quite non sequiter: Just because my husband is a cancer patient does not give you carte blanche to touch me! How much more fang does this she-wolf have to show? Go paw at the poor frazzled bunny rabbit over there!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That's totally it.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I enjoy chatting with random strangers too. I'm so glad there are others who feel the same. I always thought it was something weird and quirky about me, but how weird can it be if so many here like it too?

So we went on an extended family bike ride today with my sister and her peeps. So nice! HMB is such a lovely town. There was lots of people, on foot, on bikes, even on horses.

Now I am thinking a nap would be just the thing to round out the afternoon.

Imagine the fun of putting us in an elevator. Though I have a paranoia about that--11 floors no stops is a good chunk of meaningless but oddly energising conversation--and then, if I'm going down, there's the worry that they are going to take the same left turn to the parking structure and I've already said my clearly hysterically funny goodbye line.

I hate ruined insouciant exits.

Okay, I've resisted the urge to nap--the d making me do the nod off thing, even in the middle of typing by calling home and forcing myself into a high energy conversation. My mother now knows of the female spotted hyena's monster phallus and the mallard corkscrew schlong.

I'm not entirely sure, but she seemed to want to get off the phone pretty quickly. More detailed convo with my dad, him giving me recommendations on how to comport myself in the workplace to be both indispensable there, and putting myself in the best possible position to leave. Everyone in the org chart between my boss and the CFO is new now. And this time last year, I had a different boss. I'm not mad at my parents for not keeping track.

Anyone here watch The Writers' Room with Jim Dash? They're doing GoT this week, so if you have the Sundance channel stop by--they interview some of the writers and one of the actors about the storytelling. It's not a lot of detail, just 30 minutes, but it can be very cute. Worth a look, and what else were you watching at 8PM tomorrow.

Oh, fuck yeah! Memorial Day! Ironically, I forgot.

No, I can still nod off during posts. Good to know. Mother made me buy her book club's book of the month: The Gifts of Imperfection: Let Go of Who You Think You're Supposed to Be and Embrace Who You Are.

Could that possibly be a hint?

Oh, I keep meaning to! Maybe it's On Demand? (Because I care more about other ones they've done than GoT.)

I'm sitting out on the deck with the cats, finishing my dinner. At least 5, no make that 7, other households are doing the same and our soundtrack is my neighbor rehearsing on her viola. The smell of grilling has hung in the air all day and I had lovely conversations with people on porches or otherwise outside all day.

I think we've all been in need of this spring.
