(Relatedly, I decided not-quite-long-enough jeans are fine. I have become my mother!)
Whaaaaat? No. Not unless you are deliberately going for ankle pants length, which is a tricky one anyway. Have you tried any of the fancier high-end jeans? Those usually seem to have super long inseams. Or order "tall" online, even if they don't carry it in stores (like Gap)?
Also: I am SO OVER this woman in charge of my project at work. We keep being asked to do things one way (generally something slightly weird and out of the ordinary, though not necessarily difficult or anything), then as soon as we get used to doing that...
Her: "oh, so we want [other thing] and decided the best way to do that would be [completely contradictory to first request]"
Me: "Um, what about [first request], how do those work together?"
Her: "Oh, uh....we hadn't thought about that, um, just do [random not helpful thing]"
Me: "How about we do [x process incorporating first request and doing something separate for second request] instead?"
Her: "oh, that's a good idea, let me look into everything..."
Six weeks later, mass email "WHY AREN'T YOU ALL COMPLYING WITH [SECOND REQUEST]??"
Me: "Uh, I thought we were doing [first request]?"
Her: "NO, WE DECIDED ON SECOND WHY AREN"T YOU DOING IT ARE YOU NOT PAYING ATTENTION IN CALLS??"
Me: WTF?
(This has happened at least twice where she acted like I was an idiot for still trying to follow the first way, and I can think of a few other instances of changed demands as well, though in some cases it was more clearly said "we're doing the second way not the first way", it's still confusing)

Proof positive, if any were ever needed, that you are taller than I am. With the exception of my Levis, all my pants need hemming if I want them to be the right length. And I'm supposedly average height! But not average enough, it seems.
See, I cannot wear dresses off the rack for the most part, because they are too short through the torso. AND I need tall pants. Luckily I wear flats and many brands of dress pants assume I'll be wearing heels, so I can often fit regular length dress pants. (At this point I know the brands that are usually long enough, which is quite helpful when browsing the racks at the secondhand store).
Who wants to house shop! We're trying to see this tonight: [link] Pluses - good location, dead-end street, good yard. Minuses - on-street parking (but room for a driveway/carport?), smallish especially the kitchen, current owner has hideous fondness for wallpaper.
That could be awesome, Flea! Wallpaper is not as easy to fix as paint, but still not too bad. Location! Also, more than one bathroom, which I feel is key in a family.
I lived really close to there, on Bach, longer ago than I care to admit. That's a nice area. (So close to Target!) (And the giant creepy church!)
Meara, it sounds like you need to get things in writing and have her sign off on them. "We are now doing X Project in this fashion."
That's adorable, flea, and it looks like it's in great condition. Take down the wallpaper and you're done! I love the deck on the back, too.
Goodness woman, where haven't you lived! This is close enough to our current location that we'd basically have the same commutes and routines.
