Mal: Well, you were right about this being a bad idea. Zoe: Thanks for sayin', sir.

I have a little baby plant on my desk, it just broke through the dirt. Since I got in this morning 6 hours ago, it's grown a quarter of an inch. This is kind of cool.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

That reminds me, I need to go check on my basil. We had put it outside and there was a rain storm. I though it being under the overhang would be enough but not - it was so sad yesterday.

All this busy cellular activity taking place at my elbow! I'm taking it home over the weekend, it's too little to be left alone.

Yay new growth, Connie! So exciting.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Beau's job stability has been less than optimal, so he was presented with an opportunity to do some administrative work next year. He says to me: "this would not be my preference."

I told him, on any given day, I do 75% of stuff I don't want to do. In fact my entire Tuesday was more or less stuff I did not want to do.

I actually think he will do the job, and probably will like it a lot more than he fears. If I thought he'd be miserable, I wouldn't have responded the way I did.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

My little balcony just got visited by a humming bird, obviously expecting to find a feeder. I hastened to put one out. Now to see if he comes back.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

The Krogers here in Myrtle Beach had actual Ham Hocks on sale. Also, it has the largest pickle section I've ever seen.

It's 92 on my (covered an dtherefore shady)patio. I think I'll wait a bit before I try going running, my phone says it will cool off some after 6...

le nubian, I have found it enormously freeing to accept (or maybe believe is the better word, because, hey, maybe it isn't even true) that though my job is not paradise on earth and something I would do even if I wasn't being paid, there isn't a job out there that if only I was doing that instead I would be a happier person or generally better off. And there are plenty I would like less.

Oh, Theo, my Meat CSA is offering ham hocks right now (I guess they didn't have them for a while). I figured getting 5# of bacon was enough gratuitous pig for this order, so I passed on the ham hocks but I'll probably get some eventually.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

I have submitted my final plant order! I'm only about $5000 over budget, but that's what you get when you tell me things need to be perfect for Very Important People who can wait for damaged plants to come back in their own time and other unexpected restoration projects.

And now a day of rest before Poppy comes to visit.
