Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Egad people, stay safe from the floods!

How weird that it can be so hot and dry here and so very very wet elsewhere.

I am truly bad at 2048, I've never had higher than a 100something block.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I guess I got all the plane luck, even if we were 40 minutes late -- I had three hours warning on that, so I left late, and breezed through security. When I landed, my checked bag was the SECOND on the belt, which has never happened.

Clearly I'm making up for all the not-flying I've been doing.

Burrell, I think that may have contributed--we landed a bit early but I think they were still a bit backed up with other flights leaving late and thus not vacating the gate.

Someone convince my half-asleep mind in the morning that I MUST get up and work out, and no matter how important extra sleep seems, it really isn't, and I really don't need it? (Given I'm in bed am going to read a bit then sleep, I should have 8 hours before the alarm goes off....but sleepy morning me is so likely to go "no, NEED more sleep!")

Getting up and working out is usually the better choice.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Rivers here are very very high, but I haven't heard of roads or homes being flooded...and hopefully won't be; it seems the worst of it has passed us. My house is surrounded by a drainage ditch that becomes a moat when the rain is heavy, and the leak in my roof finally got fixed for realz (knock wood), so I'm okay, but man, this has been three days of serious rain and thunder. Scary at times. Right now, I'm selfishly concerned that the weather doesn't delay my flight.

I am at the stage of packing where I know what's going in the suitcase, but it isn't in there yet. I need to sleep, not sure if I can, though. Glad I didn't take an early morning flight this time.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Zenkitty,

(mammogram stuff).

I have had about 3-4 mammograms, and my 1st and 3rd ones were with female techs who were VERY experienced. Like had been doing this for 20+ years.

The 2nd one was everyone's nightmare of a mammogram if you could conjure one in your brain. The tech could not get a microt of shit about me. Treated me like a piece of meat, and...and she didn't even do the mammogram right so I had to go back in.

My rec if you are anxious is to get a tech who has been doing it for awhile. IME, they tend to be the types who will walk you through it and make the experience pretty chill.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

MEARA! Get up and work out!!!

Man, this rain is giving me a serious case of the Don't-Wannas. But apparently it will be done in a couple of hours?

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Go work out, meara! You can sleep more later if you want.

Dear clothing manufacturers: I don't think it is too much to ask that I should be able to put my cell phone in the front pocket of my jeans. Can we work on that?

Happy May Day! I kinda want to pull a quick strike in honor of the holiday, but only because I don't want to work, not demanding anything.
