Art Crawl!!!

Okay, going to li heap (?) this morning to see if I can get my electricity turned back on.

Wish me power.

(Yes, still having a crappy, disorganized life.)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

More of us need changes in our lives. Not interesting times changes, but changes.

If I need to be in Brooklyn, how much more expensive is it surface transport wise if I fly into JFK? There are direct flights, and so far a shade cheaper. I just...direct flights. I shouldn't be spending extra right now--I shouldn't even be going, but direct flights are a biggie.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

It might depend on exactly where in Brooklyn you need to go. Me, I'd pay a little more for a taxi if it meant I could take a direct flight. I loathe changing planes.

Columbus Park? Does that make sense?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

For Brooklyn, JFK is almost always the better option. If nothing else, you're not going to be taking the BQE to get to your destination, so less likely to be snarled in traffic.

[eta - Oh, it's right by Borough Hall. If you fly into JFK the A train will take you right there for $2.50)

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Also, do they realize the implications of giving you your own minion?

ALL THE COFFEE AND CHOCOLATE I CAN ASK FOR! MUAHAHHAHA!

Independence is a burb of KC, and is...um, interesting.

It wasn't like I was planning on leaving the hotel much.

Independence is where the Mormons are supposed to return to when the end times finally show up. Beware of gatherings of Mormons! Though they'll run from your awesomeness, Jilli.

For whatever reason, every Mormon I've met thinks I'm adorable. Lost and doomed to whatever their version of Hell is, but adorable.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

My image of Mormons is significantly colored by family, and they are mostly Jack Mormons, except for the one young hipster couple. Who, for the record, would find Jilli not just adorable, but a fashion inspiration.

ALL THE COFFEE AND CHOCOLATE I CAN ASK FOR! MUAHAHHAHA!

It's not as good as a minion, but we've been providing the Scribe editors with yummy breakfast treats for the end of the year. Delicious!

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

The house sale is still on, but now we're in that post-inspection limbo. Good news: they only found a couple of things. Neutral news: the things they found are things we've already had someone look at, and they're cosmetic rather than structural. Bad news: don't know how the buyers are going to react to that.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

And now, just to give myself a treat, I'm on the phone with the insurance company. I don't know if anyone remembers my latest "Huh, that's weird" saga, but their website was showing completely contradictory information about what we'd paid into our 2013 and FSA and what we'd been reimbursed. We pushed, and they promised to audit and figure out what was going on.

Monday, we got a letter saying that the $30 they had actually managed to pay us so far was an overpayment, and could we return that money? Even worse, it was Monday, and the phone was out, so I couldn't call and yell at them.

Today, I called them. The CSR I spoke to: "Huh, that's weird." So now I'm on hold.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Good lord, Dana. I wonder if that's in their training - "if anyone calls, say "Huh. That's weird..."
