I just did a little retail therapy to assuage the general meh-ness and inadequacy I'm feeling right now and defended my purchases in my head in the voice of Billy on the Street which made the whole thing more hilarious then sad.

Oh hey, did I tell you folks about my derm visit yesterday? Involved an impromptu biopsy of a mole that may or may not be a basal cell carcinoma. Ugh. Knowing my fears of cancer, he did tell me repeatedly that no one has ever died of a basal cell carcinoma. So I'm trying to be all mature about it. The biopsy site itches.
Burrell, my stepdad (who is a stereotypical ginger with freckles and skin that fears the sun) has had several basal cell carcinomas removed over the past 10-15 years (he's 55, so he started having them removed in his early 40s). They've never been problematic/malignant, just a pain in the butt.
I don't know if anecdata helps, but I thought I'd mention it just in case.
I have made myself dinner twice. Each time I took about 4 bites and it just didn't taste good. So I gave up on dinner and have a mini Magnum ice cream bar.
My mother has also had several basal cell carcinomas removed over the last 25+ years. (We are very pale people.) One was deep enough that it required two stitches, but they've otherwise been problem free.
Good plan, Suzi.
Thanks Steph, that does reassure. I'm not stressing over it, or trying not to anyway.
Also how is your stepdad only about 10 years older than me? Am I really that much older than you? Dang, you whipper snapper!

Ahahaha, NOPE. He's 12 years younger than my mom, which makes him 13 years older than me. I'll be 43 in 2 months. (I occasionally get weirded out by the fact that my stepdad is within the age range of Men I Would Date Were I Single. So I try not to think about it.)
Okay, phew!
Like Tep, not sure this will help. But my 92 year old Mom who spent her time in California during the time when tanning was considered healthy has had basal skin cancer removed every few years or so since she was fifty. Just an inconvenience.
I rescued a dog today and put him back in what I thought was his yard on the right side of the gate, only to then realize, "Wait it might not be his yard" (there was already a dog there). So I left a note saying, "I left a dalmatian in the yard, is it yours?" Luckily it was.
In other news, Noah stuck up for Grace in the most amazing way.
K is leaving for 4 days and I am primary mom until she gets back. I'm tired about this.
