A friend of my mom's did a study on masochistic dreaming as a way of processing negative emotion, but I never heard the outcomes. Still feels like your brain piling on.

I saw a lot of goats last week, and they sure are goat-like, aren't they? I mean with the yelling and climbing and glayvin.

I had a dream last night that I was in a yoga class where the teacher was assigning us our "virtual ages" & she told everyone else in the class they were 18 & I was like "around 30." I also had to get on a 6pm flight and it was 530 & I hadn't packed yet. Earlier in the night I thought someone was in the room and woke up screaming (and the windows were open so I was terrified that I'd wake my neighbors and they'd come check on me). All in all my brain was being a total dick to me last night!

My brain was also a jerk last night. I dreamed that Casper's science fair project was due on Monday, and I dreamed I started my period unexpectedly and bled all over the place.

I feel like life is hard enough. Why can't all dreams be like the awesome ones (best examples, as reported by my children - diving into a cupcake the size of a house; hula-hooping with a donut and eating bites out of it. Now THAT is a dream.)

And I woke up from a dream where the garbage trucks were coming and I hadn't put out the cans. (Garbage day is TOMORROW, btw.)

Sorry for the bad dreams, people. Those are some doozies. I tend to think that we aren't supposed to remember our dreams, it's just a bug that we do ( which sometimes seems like a feature shay with the cupcakes and donuts). We're just such narrative junkies, humans, we can't let go of the stories we make up about the garbage our brains are trying to get rid of.

Eta: went to bed before total eclipse but after usual bed time. On the plus side, slept deeply and without apparent dreams, if not really for a long enough time.

I did not realize that was my dream, but it totally is.

I had weird dreams too but I'm pretty sure that is due to open windows and pollen and lots of brain fodder yesterday.

Dear cousin- I do not give two fucks about your calculus for driving vs cost. These are my arrangements. You are welcome to piggy-back on them, but I don't really care one way or the other. Fish or cut bait. You guys are SO turning into your parents, and that isn't a good thing.

As an adult I feel like I never have good dreams. Not many nightmares, but endless variations on being late, unprepared, etc. Last night I was trying to make a flight and the buses were all wrong, and cans were late and my phone didn't work.
