Can you take some of the drugs and go see the movie?
Natter 72: We Were Unprepared for This
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
You can stay at home and watch the other Vivian Maier documentary.
Tough one, Sue. I hate when that happens.
I also was gonna say: I don't think I have ever had a job that was important, and I am grateful for that. I think that would weigh heavily on me. When I was looking for work this last time, I always said I wanted to be a cog in a big machine, and that's pretty much what I am now. And it's not an evil machine, so far as I can tell, so I'm satisfied.
This year there's a big push to Emphasize the Employees which means a lot of progression path stuff and mentoring and whatnot which I appreciate in the abstract but, when you get right down to it, I just want to do my job and get paid for it.
I am happiest in this job when I can just do the parts of it that are cog-like and be done at 5, but that so rarely happens.
Remember my resume question? I just want opinions on phrasing a job description. So, which is better? This:
I was responsible for scheduling, training, and supervising local crews for touring shows, University events and rental events. I also served as house lighting designer and master electrician. Designs included Dance Arts, Windham Hill's Winter Solstice Concerts, Branford Marsalis Quartet, George Clinton and the P-Funk All-Stars, and many more.
Or this:

In my current situation, I know the person who will be looking at the resume and I'm leaning toward the 2nd one.
I think the first one.
Eta: yeah, totally depends on the audience. They're both fine.
I'd go with the second one then.
ita!
(That is all.)
Second one, in bullet point format, maybe.
Lived.
Damn.
Words?
Damn.
