Kaylee: Is that him? Mal: That's the buffet table. Kaylee: Well how can we be sure, unless we question it?

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Totally normal, Steph! You'll do great!

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

The mechanics of the gig are funny, though. For the AMA, I get PDFs that I download through their portal, and I mark them up using the sticky-notes function in Acrobat, and upload the finished files through their portal.

For this job, I would receive PDFs via email...which I need to print out, mark up by hand, scan, save as new PDFs, and email back. Now, I will get paid for the time to print/scan (which is good, because toner and paper ain't free), but I'm so damn amused. It's like a giant step back to Bedrock.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

I think in the long run it will be fun, but yes the first steps are crazy making. for a little bit I did fact checking for children's book . The crazy making part about that is that everyone was different so I was in hurry up and learn mode. At least in theis case you might spend too much time for some of the earlier ones, but you pick up speed as you learn the basics

And you worry that you're crazy.

Ha! Good point.

Shiballs. It's snowing and sticking to the deck. No rain preceding it as predicted, either. Can't pick up the laptop, supposed to replace it tomorrow. AHAHAH.

I really want to stain, but know I need to do a final wipedown and wood patching first and can't do that tonight. The sample turned out awesome.

Pissed both cats off by trimming their claws; they're currently working out their ire by beating up on each other with their new pawdicures.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I cooked food for all our meals today. been a long time since I did that.

even made boxed cupcakes, but with from scratch buttercream frosting.

my head still hurst, but I made myself go out and do some shopping.

BTW, msbelle, I think your employers are completely insane to put you on call when you have other life things scheduled ON A WEEKEND. At that point, they need to put someone else on call or get over themselves.

I felt the front coming in this afternoon, IN MY FACE. And it kept squeaking during my swim. I'm not really congested, it just seems to do this with this whackadoodle weather.

brillig

Oh, I wish I could take decent pictures from my office. The air's clear and the sunset's lighting the mountains red, and it's reflecting in the lake. It looks like a Maynard Dixon painting.

edit: I've got probably a 40-50 miles view down the valley, across the lake, to the mountains at the other end of the valley. It's nearly worth the drive.
