Tara: What's so bad about them coming here? Aren't they good guys? I mean, Watchers, that's just like whole other Gileses, right? Buffy: Yes! They're scary and horrible!

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

And I'm hate watching Love It or List It, knowing there's no way in hell there's that many super clean and finished houses on the market in the buyer's price range and neighborhood. Who are you trying to kid, David!

Our wings are not tired

Here in Los Angeles there are investors that will place a bid on a house without even getting a full tour. If they think they can sit on it and flip it in the long run, then it gets a cash offer. It makes buying a house for any sort of deal in the here very difficult because anything that pops up on foreclosure or short sale that would be at a bargain is almost guaranteed to get a cash offer.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Just took my father for a semi-emergency walk to let my mother cool down, and got a lamp fixed in the bargain! So that worked out for everyone.

See, I always think about how "Location, location, location"--there may be a magic house that is in their price range that they want, but how often is it not ANYWHERE like their neighborhood--he's always like "It's only 20 minutes away!" and that's super far! I mean, when I was looking for a place I had about a mile radius, maybe...because I wanted one specific neighborhood and that's how big it is.

(That said, I still love Love It or List It and Property Brothers way more than House Hunters, even if they're always SHOCKED, SHOCKED I TELL YOU, to find knob-and-tube wiring or that an integral part of her design is removing a load-bearing wall)

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

and as if my own co-workers were not annoying enough. do the contractors we are supplying tomorrow bother to call and tell me they are going to cancel? NO, only when I call them, WHICH IS NOT PROCEDURE, to check in do they push off their order for a day. Of the 4 I called, 2 cancelled and 2 went will-call. That is more than half the work scheduled for tomorrow and completely changes the order for materials I have to put in NOW. grr. do not like.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

OMG, so much airline shenanigans. I realized the revised meeting time meant I could no longer make my return flight, so I had to cancel and rebook. And then the stupid effing corporate travel site didn't show me the flight I really wanted, so I booked a different one thinking the one I was was full. Then I was told by colleague that that flight was wide open. So then I ended up cancelling another flight and rebooking again, and that time they upgraded me to Business.

But I'm going to have to expense all these flights and then have airline credit, so I still get to have an awkward conversation with my boss. I'm going to end up with like $4000 in credit. Let's see how close I get to using that by the end of the year.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I always yell Why didn't you check that before you made the plans! But they don't ever answer me.

The Property Brothers are cute as hell, too.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

You guys, I'm crazy in the head. I know this. There's another freelance medical editing job that's essentially mine if I want it, although I do have to talk to the managing editor and make sure he believes the good stuff my colleague said about me. But the journal's subject matter is one that I don't have a hell of a lot of experience with (pathology). I looked over some sample articles, and I *think* I can do it, but I'm slightly intimidated.

I'm not going to turn down the opportunity, because I can use more work, but I'm appalled at myself for how nervous I am. Crazy, right?

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Nah, going from something you know backwards and forwards to something you are not that familiar with, natural to be nervous. Going ahead and doing it anyway is the key thing, and you're doing that. You'll rock it.

I always plan for my Sundays to be full of cooking and cleaning, and then they turn out to be full of cooking and nsm cleaning. At least I won't starve.
