Natter 72: We Were Unprepared for This
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I have yet to have a good falafel experience. I'm with Jesse that I feel like I should like it as I like the ingredients.
So tired and broken. All the shelves and drawers in my room and bathroom are empty. I still have a few piles that need to find their way into a box, but the majority is handled. I'm trying to get CJ to do the same with him room and his bathroom. Tomorrow - the kitchen.
My back and hips are killing me. With the boot, I put most of my weight on my other leg, throwing my hips and everything else out of whack. I'm trying to do as much as I can from a sitting position, but that makes it hard to get much done.
My local place also has a ton of different sauces and pickled veg you can put on it, so even if the falafel itself wasn't good (and it is), you could distract yourself with other stuff.
Suzi, I am so impressed with everything you've done! Is there any way you could hire someone to help with any of the packing?
Mm, now I kinda miss Amsterdam Falafel in DC. Delicious.
My local is Amsterdam Falafel!

We are close to the end and I am making CJ work, bringing me stuff and moving boxes once I have them packed in addition to the list I have him working on. By this time next week we should be in the new place, with just cleanup of the old place left and I have a friend who has offered to do that for me. Since they are renovating the soon to be old apartment, cleaning up is basically just general vacuuming and spiffying up the bathrooms.
Thanks for the kind words. They mean a bunch. I have had local friends who have said they would help but so far only one has actually helped.
My goal for this weekend is to have everything packed except the electronics, clothes and hygiene items, food for the week, and a few dishes/silverware/cups each. Everything else - in a box.
Aw, Suzi. I wish I could help.
I amazed at how much you have managed with the boot and all, Suzi!
I think I saw little green leaves on my grapevine y'all! Very exciting. I was a little afraid with the dryness of this winter that it wouldn't come back.
Suzi, you're doing great! I cannot believe all you've had to manage. I am amazed at your resilience.
We're watching the paralympics opening ceremony.
I am amazed at your resilience.
You spelled stubbornness wrong. But thanks.
I just ordered some pre-preinted "we have moved" cards. Decided that I just don't have the ummpphh to fill out a bunch and if I want snail mail, I'd rather send a card with my new address than an e-mail.
CJ just emptied my booze shelf for me. I have amassed quite a collection and need to hit up the liquor store for some boxes with the separators.
OK, so I'm rewatching Veronica Mars, I'm about halfway through Season 2...and I don't actually remember what happens to
Duncan and the baby. Which...why did he have to leave the country, again? Seriously, if he was the kid's father, he couldn't sue for custody? How much would the grandparents really be able to screw the kid up when it's a tiny baby? Even if his parents weren't supportive, surely he could've done better on his own than fleeing the country on a felony charge?
