OK, so I'm rewatching Veronica Mars, I'm about halfway through Season 2...and I don't actually remember what happens to Duncan and the baby. Which...why did he have to leave the country, again? Seriously, if he was the kid's father, he couldn't sue for custody? How much would the grandparents really be able to screw the kid up when it's a tiny baby? Even if his parents weren't supportive, surely he could've done better on his own than fleeing the country on a felony charge?

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

The kids' art class had a day-long field trip to LACMA, so we went and hung out there and looked at art all day. And had a delicious brunch too. Totally fun. Favorite piece of the day was a piece by Chris Burden called Metropolis II: link

Because books.

meara, maybe Teddy Dunn had to leave the show? Or maybe they just wanted Duncan completely out of the picture to make way for Veronica/Logan ?

It didn't make a whole lot of sense, but I wasn't really invested in that storyline, so I didn't care much.

Hah, well, yes, Amy, I guess I figured there were writerly-and-or-real-life reasons, but geez, people, come up with a better excuse! :)

Because books.

I'm halfway through the last episode of S3, and I swear, I must not have watched the last few episodes in real time. None of this seems familiar, and I'm also completely bummed that it's going to be over in 20 minutes.

Hah--I'm only halfway through Season 2, but a lot of this is definitely "whoa, I totally forgot that happened!!"

Because books.

I definitely didn't see the end of S3 in real time. I'm so sad now. And I really hope we get a hint of what Rob Thomas had planned to end the season, since it got cut off two episodes early. Stupid CW.

I am so pumped for this movie.

Bailed on dinner. Got there, it was mobbed, wait was going to be an hour. Idea of waiting an hour at the already packed bar basically put me at defcon 2. So I made my apologies and went to Home Despot. No crowds.

I would've loved to spend time with my friends, but not under those circumstances.

It's annoying, but I know my limits.

But now I have 5' of pine to saw into bits to make stain samples and another tin of stain to try. I think Lowes tomorrow.

I must say, I think Weevil looked way hotter with his mustache--suddenly in these eps he doesn't have one, and it's disappointing.

Punishingly Intricate

(lisah, believe Emily works with you.) I was surprised to see the sign go up, must get the scuttlebutt.

She does! I'll have to find out why they're moving. Their bathroom has a lot of the elements we are planning for our bathroom that we're redoing--the floor and the subway tile with black capper anyway. It's current look, that it's had since I bought the place, is redone in the 70s probably. There's horrible drop ceiling and some kind of vinyl wall covering. We're ripping everything out and making it bigger by building into the light shaft. By "we" I mean my friend the contractor. "We" are not nearly that DIY-capable. Tomorrow he and Bob are going to the reclaimed building materials place to, we hope, get a clawfoot tub that we will have reglazed and painted. Good times!
