Heh. I love the Buffistas. Reminds me of the time I was stuck at work on the Project From Hell and my sister & BIL were out of town, and JZ came and got my keys and went and let my dog out.
Bravo, Buffistas.
Just now, I thought I was hallucinating: I heard a horse neigh. Turns out I wasn't hallucinating: we're having a neighborhood street fair and a couple of black cowboys (err, cowgirls--I saw mostly women with the horses) came; one of their horses, a cranky pinto, was tied up in the empty lot across the street from me. He (she, it?) was not happy to be there. Too cool.
Today I have walked the dog a couple of miles, cleaned my kitchen, scrubbed the grout on the kitchen floor, pulled up the rug in the living room, mopped the living room floor, put the living room rug in the bedroom, shipped a package, and started laundry. Now I'm waiting for the floors to dry so I can put the new (non-dog-chewed) rug in the living room and walk through the kitchen so I can hang up my laundry in the back yard.
Not too bad for a Saturday. But I have to remember to get to the dry cleaner's.
OK, this is really cool:

A shoe store that closed up in the 1960s without getting rid of the inventory. Nobody's been in there for over 40 years. What amazes me is how many of those shoes you could wear today, with no comment at all. They look great!

So can you figure out why I'm hearing it every couple weeks in my neighborhood?!
My best guess is someone's horn.
I am always agog when property goes untouched for so long. Apartments, stores, anything. Does no one notice them? It can take that long to work out you inherited something and none of the neighbours raised anything?
Well, I guess the idea of paid off property boggles me too. Hello LA!
We can compare funky crutch accessories! After I get some, that is.
Crotch accessories!!!! oh...wait.
You guys take care of yourselves! And I'm glad there are nice folks nearby to help you do that.
I got up and walked the dog and then napped because my go to market friend had slept through her alarm and was an hour late. Then I marketed the hell out of that market. Then went for a hot and not as long as I planned bike ride. Still, almost 15 miles and a couple of serious hills is better than nothing. Now, I have nothing else planned until dinner tonight. I'm drinking cherry lemonade and pelligrino and thinking I should really do some meal planning, which I never really do beyond one meal at a time plus vague ideas. But I got a ton of produce that I will need to use this week and I totally failed at lunches last week. I had to buy lunch 4 times when I usually only buy once or twice at the most. Fail!
Timelies all!
I'm sorry, ita.
Went to services this morning because it is the 60th anniversary of my FIL's bar mitzvah, and he was chanting the haftorah portion. Afterwards he took us and a bunch of his friends to lunch. We also made a trip to REI so I could get a rain jacket and Gary could get a daypack.
a day spent in bed and playing fb games. lazy and kinda perfect.
Score! My favorite farm's grape harvest started this week , so I now have a big bowlful of the
really
tasty Concord grapes (hopefully without bonus spiders), as well as a bunch of tomatoes, cucumbers, and eggplants. Also bought a pound of pricey brisket for work lunches next week and some delicious BBQ ribs for lunch today, as well as a 4 lb. bag of grilled chicken breasts for about 12 dinners.
I went in with hair past my shoulders. My head feels lighter: [link]
