If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I love the idea of Gracie the cat having more discretion than Darby.

It would be completely in character, no lie.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I've never had panna cotta! Even after all these years watching Top Chef.

It's so freakin' easy! It's just cream, vanilla, sugar, and gelatin!

Deadly. Also deadly.

Oh Burrell, I didn't read that until I was on the train or I would've stayed downtown.

I totally would have preferred staying downtown to have dinner with aurelia & Burrell rather than grumpily getting groceries and getting stuck in traffic and then reading this when I got home.

I hope you found food, Burrell!

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Check this out: an interactive map showing the spread of Homo sapiens across the world over 150,000 years or so. [link]

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That's so cool! I would not have thought that an arrow moving over a map would make me say holy shit, but it did.

Right? (I should note that the Mount Tabo eruption idea is controversial. It happened, and it was big, but you don't see much impact on other species overall, including those more sensitive to environmental change. The existence of a genetic bottleneck at the time is also open to interpretation. Still, this map is pretty cool.)

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I'd look forward to the part of the wedding reception where the Witch King says "No man may dance with me," and the Best Man tears off his false beard and breast bindings and whips her into a waltz.

So, I've made it to the point of my new job where people greet me by name in the hallway, and I have no idea who they are. Good times.

Panna Cotta is delicious.

It occurs to me that heavy cream is a big party of my cooking repertoire. This perhaps explains why I am fat?

I have so many students this year and last that I can't learn all of their names (though I is. And when I don't see them after a few weeks, I can't remember who they are at all. Then they friend me on facebook and I'm like, "hhhmm... don't know that person."
