Natter 72: We Were Unprepared for This
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I think I mentioned here how I was having problems with my oven. I finally bought an oven thermometer and with my last batch of cookies I discovered that the over was running a good 75 degrees higher than what I had set as the temp.
I called the apartment management and right now maintenance is putting in a new (to me) oven. Hopefully this one works better. I love my maintenance guy...he is also giving me new drip pans.
sarameg, you're crazy brave for even getting up there. Glad you got rescued quickly!
Quizno's has really good broccoli cheese soup. I could go get some, but I'd have to put on outside clothes. So, probably won't.
It isn't bravery, it is necessity. And knowing I have neighbors to watch out for me.
But when I get a ladder (I borrowed this one) I'm fucking installing lock-down-able brackets on the roof lip.
You concern me, sara.
And maybe I'm going to make another batch this weekend
Ooh maybe I will too! And, yes, what jesse said, it savory and filling enough not to need cheese although it's possible I t threw a cheese rind in when I was cooking it because I often do that.
Oh, sara, jeez!! Glad your neighbors are right there to rescue you!
The heat tape I installed on the furnace drain pipes in the attic works great. I haven't had to crawl up there once this winter, even though we've mostly been using the woodstove (which is when the furnace freezes, because, not hot). So I think it would be worthwhile for you to take preventative action if it's been a recurring problem.
How big a stack of amps do you need to be able to split wood with your axe?
It's only happened twice now in 5 yrs, but I'd prefer to avoid climbing on the roof as much as is possible.
I think it's safe to say that none of us want you climbing on your roof!
