The heat tape I installed on the furnace drain pipes in the attic works great. I haven't had to crawl up there once this winter, even though we've mostly been using the woodstove (which is when the furnace freezes, because, not hot). So I think it would be worthwhile for you to take preventative action if it's been a recurring problem.

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
How big a stack of amps do you need to be able to split wood with your axe?
It's only happened twice now in 5 yrs, but I'd prefer to avoid climbing on the roof as much as is possible.
I think it's safe to say that none of us want you climbing on your roof!
It's cool that you do it, though.
My desire to stay off the roof has more to do with preserving the surface and not having a NEED to go up there than anything else.
I spent a lot of time on the sloped roof of my childhood home (climbing trees to get there!)
Ha, Tom, maybe mythbusters needs to tackle this one.
Also, now? Falling ladders.
I would like to both change into pajamas and get under the electric blanket, but I'm waiting on a delivery. He called at 12:30 and said it would be half an hour.
Thanks for the birthday wishes! I need to bundle up and go to Walgreens, but then I'm staying in pajamas at home the rest of the day.
