Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

sarameg, you're crazy brave for even getting up there. Glad you got rescued quickly!

Quizno's has really good broccoli cheese soup. I could go get some, but I'd have to put on outside clothes. So, probably won't.

It isn't bravery, it is necessity. And knowing I have neighbors to watch out for me.

But when I get a ladder (I borrowed this one) I'm fucking installing lock-down-able brackets on the roof lip.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

You concern me, sara.

Punishingly Intricate

And maybe I'm going to make another batch this weekend

Ooh maybe I will too! And, yes, what jesse said, it savory and filling enough not to need cheese although it's possible I t threw a cheese rind in when I was cooking it because I often do that.

Oh, sara, jeez!! Glad your neighbors are right there to rescue you!

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

The heat tape I installed on the furnace drain pipes in the attic works great. I haven't had to crawl up there once this winter, even though we've mostly been using the woodstove (which is when the furnace freezes, because, not hot). So I think it would be worthwhile for you to take preventative action if it's been a recurring problem.

hwæt

How big a stack of amps do you need to be able to split wood with your axe?

It's only happened twice now in 5 yrs, but I'd prefer to avoid climbing on the roof as much as is possible.

I think it's safe to say that none of us want you climbing on your roof!

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

It's cool that you do it, though.

My desire to stay off the roof has more to do with preserving the surface and not having a NEED to go up there than anything else.

I spent a lot of time on the sloped roof of my childhood home (climbing trees to get there!)
