Natter 72: We Were Unprepared for This
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Gud, wow. Fourteen!
Man, I hope this is because of mad sex
If only.
Basically, I'm epically frustrated with correcting copy over and over for capital letters out of nowhere. It's not something I can tie to a particular first language--people whose first language is English need correcting here too. WHAT IS THE WHaT?
Winnie the Pooh case, where you Capitalize all the Important words. Incredibly hard to stamp out.
I'm horrible about Capitalizing the Important words.
I work with a couple writers who do that. "And when the children are old enough for School, be sure to take them to the Doctor for a checkup first." NO.
It's very 19th century of them, the random caps in Important Words.
Sara, I wonder how much trouble the cop is in--are you supposed to just leave your gun and badge in the car??
Yeah, I think when we do it here, we're doing it On Purpose. And that is self-selected.
I slept 10 hours last night. Which is great for me! But I wish they had started a little sooner. In the end, it doesn't matter since my parents went to see my aunt in the hospital. (I mean, I could have gone with them, but it's fine that I didn't.)
On the apartment, it is downstairs from my parents. It's a nice 2-bedroom, and my mother will charge me less than I am paying now for a small 1-bed. But still way more than my grandmother was paying! (I think there was some real estate implication if they didn't have a paying tenant down there, but she paid like $100 a month or something.) When everyone was healthy, they didn't necessarily see each other every day, so I think we could be fine with boundaries, AND it would help me help with my dad. Although that's really more of an issue before my mother retires, and she'll be retired before I move in there.
I am much more likely to Pooh Case here, because it is a way to emphasize casual conversation when there is no facial expression/tone of voice to help.
Why is your mother charging you more?
When are you thinking of moving? Does this solve your lease problem?
She's charging me more, because I have a job! And she won't, pretty soon. So it's a good deal for both of us, and way easier than her trying to find the perfect tenant. I just started a year lease, so I have to give three months' notice to break it, which is actually kind of perfect. Gives us time to deal with my grandmother's stuff and redo the kitchen and possibly bathroom, etc. All that stuff hasn't been touched in 40 years, so it needs a lot of work! She does have newish floors in the main part of the apartment, which is good. I have been spending an embarrassing amount of time thinking about what needs to be done in the apartment over the past few months.
And now I'm off to the house.
