Fred: So you don't worry that it's possible for someone to send out a biological or electronic trigger that effectively overrides your own sense of ideals and values and replaces them with an alternative coercive agenda that reduces you to a mindless meat puppet? Shopkeeper: Wow. People used to think that I was paranoid.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Nora, the cold front is hitting us today, so don't gloat too long. But the good news is that in about a week, it will be back up to 70.

When I checked the weather this morning for the place we used to live, it was 11 degrees. I am so glad not to be there any more.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Is this where I get to gloat about it being 80 degrees to get y'all back for taunting me about your lovely summer weather?

My brother just sent me pictures from his job interview in Barbados.

(Which he could us some serious ~ma for, by the way. Kid's been through the wringer the last few years.)

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Both upstairs cats glommed RIGHT onto heating vent: check.

Thanks for bogarting the office heat, fuzzy assholes!

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

In passing I noted that Jim Cantore of the Weather Channel is in Dallas in anticipation of an historic ice storm... my rule is, if you see him within a hundred miles of you, evacuate to high ground immediately.

Yeah, it was pretty cold last week, but that was still in the 50s, so. I'll take it.

Oh, Teppy, check it out! [link]

(you probably know about it, and since Keller's name is attached, it probably costs more than gold, which is also gluten free, so.)

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I've heard Keller's Cup4Cup flour is good...but costs more than gold. Some GF websites have tried to reverse-engineer it into its component flours by percentage so you can make your own, but if I tried that, the results would be horrific.

AND HILARIOUS.

Job interview in Barbados? That sounds pretty sweet!

I am annoyed at companies that constantly give huge discounts, until I decide it's time to buy, then I can't find one. But since I know they've offered 30% off two days ago, I'm then like "no, I want 30% off too!"

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

My dad called, and he said that my mom's tests all came back OK, so she's probably going home pretty soon.
