It's snowing. It isn't sticking, at least not yet, but it looks like a snowglobe out there. Pretty!
We left some important-to-us tree ornaments in NC. I was so frustrated with everybody that last Christmas there. Nobody but me seemed the least bit interested in decorating or wrapping presents. They were just sort of hanging out waiting for the food and to see what they got.
StE was always my partner in planning and prep for any holiday, and in the face of mass indifference I really missed him a lot. So much that I pulled the ornaments off the tree, didn't sort the ones we've given to each kid into separate boxes for them, scraped up a few things I wanted to take with us, but I didn't care at the time to be thorough. I don't know if the guys sorted their stuff or not. At this point I don't care. I miss the special things we left behind, but H's and my tree in the new house is sparse but pretty.
This is why I'm kinda ignoring my work To Do List in favor of my personal To Do List.
I'd like to do this but unfortunately in the week I was out, my boss decided to pull a hail-mary-come-to-jesus with one of the troublesome teams and this means I have a meeting with them and Hubble's god tomorrow morning. Sheeeit.
And I felt off all day. Swim verified it. Not sure if it is the crap air quality, reaction to doing leaves yesterday or what. But I'm oddly lacking in stamina. Bah. Can't get sick until after Thursday!
Two days into December, and I already lost the Little Drummer Boy game.
I've avoided LDB by dint of staying at home, and only listening to my iTunes.
I can only ascribe the popularity of LDB by all the drummers in bands out there who feel unappreciated for all they do, and their bandmates who feel like making it up to them. For all that, LDB doesn't feature much in the way to show off the work of the actual drummer.
We're watching the more modern Charlie Brown Christmas stuff (AFTER A Charlie Brown Christmas), and I'm hoping it doesn't have LDB in it. I may be out of the game soon. We'll see.
Does it count if I heard it while flipping through radio stations, and only heard a few seconds of it? If so, then I'm out, too.
I think I'm going to need liquor to get through this football game.
Gave myself a second degree burn on my pinkie with a glue gun, had a "volunteer" come in and heckle me for a half hour before he realized that he was unwelcome, new boss spent almost four hours driving to businesses that had moved (but not posted the move on their website, or mentioned it in my phonecalls to them). Thank bejeebus that the intern seems to have an artistic eye and is actually being helpful in creating stuff to sell (like, way better than what I've churned out so far).
One and a half days left to get everything done, essentially.
Okay, no LDB on the Charlie Brown thing. I'm still in.
I think I'm going to need liquor to get through this football game.
You know, that hadn't occurred to me, but now that you mention it, whiskey's a very attractive option.
