This is a time of celebration, so sit still and be quiet.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

apropos of nothing at all, it seems that even when the instructions were written in your language, Ikea furniture is still a pain to assemble.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

OSTRICHPILLOW® at your desk, on a bench, on the train or while you wait at the airport to catch a flight. In fact, you can use the OSTRICHPILLOW® whenever and wherever you feel like the need to nap.

If I wore that thing on the train someone would throw change in my coffee.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

I just discovered that the Elfster wishlist has a button you can add to your browser to grab things from other sites and put them in your Elfster wishlist.

Ooh, spiffy!

In other news, I am in the middle of the worest fibro flarup I have had in years. Ow. Owowow. Owfuckityow.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Oven is working, but the convection motor needs replacing. Somehow this is going to end up costing me about half what the stove cost, new.

At least now I know that the igniter element is made of graphite, and that the releast of the gas is not controlled by a thermocouple, but actually depends on the amperage that is flowing through the hot glowing graphite.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Yay Jesse!

Looks like I'm being kept on in the lab(I'm currently on a six month detail.). I say "looks like" because there have been no official e-mails about it. Still, that's a relief.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

That of course doesn't mean you don't have it, just that once you've experienced it, you have it stored in your personal karmic bag of tricks.

Do you know anyone who needs metastatic cancer?

I can think of a couple... if only this were practical!

You have to remember that being a 5-time Olympic medalist means Hilary Knight has been playing hockey at an elite level at least 16 years. It's impossible for her to be a teenage girl less than 16 years old, thus the President's complete lack of interest.

Crap, the client for the project I've been working on the last week just moved our final deadline up two weeks. To next Friday.

I'm sure tripling the amount of material we need to generate each day won't cause any problems at all...

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

I just got an email from Delta saying that if I call the new reservations system from the phone that's listed in my profile, the system will "recognize you and respond naturally to your voice".

This leads to Skynet, right?

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

I'm sitting in the dark and a Jillifont just walked across my laptop screen. I flicked it, but I have no idea where it landed.

Still, better than imagining it crawling down and landing on my lap. I can blissfully assume that it is now several feet over on the floor.
