Oh, I wish those council guys would let me have an hour alone in the room with her, if I was larger and had grenades.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Thanks for the link! I don't mind singing religious music.

One of my fondest memories of high school choir was an exchange program we did with a Canadian children's choir out of Toronto - we performed together an incredibly difficult but gorgeous arrangement of Kyrie Elesion that had been arranged especially for them. I've never been able to find another recording of it.

Holy shit, the Phillipines are about to get walloped : [link]

The storm is now within a few hours of landfall in the central Philippines at peak intensity as among the most powerful storms witnessed anywhere in modern times. Widespread destruction, unfortunately, seems inevitable.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

ION, Timothy Olyphant was on this week's Mindy Project, if anyone is interest in seeing him try to look like a loser.

DUDE. I totally didn't recognize him. I kept trying to figure out WTF he looked familiar.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Are there non-churchy hobbyist ways to do that?

Tons! Edit: Whoops! Got distracted. Some other stuff comes up if you just google New York chorus, or even better, Brooklyn chorus.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Was it literally the Toronto Children's Chorus?

Maybe - it was so long ago!

[The Kyrie on the allmusic.com link that comes up in that Google search is not the one I'm thinking of though.]

brillig

I learned to sing in a Methodist choir. Methodists have terrific hymns. There's a volunteer choir in town, but you have to pay to join. No thanks.

Our wings are not tired.

java, are you close enough that you could do a separate lunch or dinner with gift exchange with the ones you'd like to gift? That's what I generally end up doing with my girlfriends with huge families that I'm not especially close to. We get together and hang out for a while, exchange gifts (and because I like doing presents, sometimes gifts for their hubbies, if I consider them friends [or have a theme I like to hit] and for their kids). Sometimes we end up not "doing Christmas" until well into January, but it's nice to find the time to be together along with fun gifting.

You know, I should do this. Thanks. I really miss it and I should do something about it. I hope they'll want to play along. Thanks, Epic.

HI OUISE!

I also would like to find a singing group, but even more than a that, a jam group for people who like to sing with instruments. I get close to it going down to Matt and Beth's neighborhood - but I need more more more more.
