It's good to have cargo. Makes us a target for every other scavenger out there, though, but sometimes that's fun too.

Punishingly Intricate

I'm so sorry for your loss, Burrell. Sending strength and love out to you and your family and your sister's friends.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

My parents had about a dozen umbrellas. After they passed my sister and I divvied the umbrellas up. They weren't particularly good, but there were so many of them. Four years later most of mine have finally broken or been lost, so I'll probably have to get one or two soon.

Because books.

Even if I'm walking, I'd rather put a hood up than carry an umbrella. Umbrellas leave you with one less hand!

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I've never had a raincoat hood that would stay up. Who wants to Google rain hats for me?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I've never had a raincoat hood that would stay up.

My raincoat has an elastic drawstring thingie in the hood so it stays up.

Because books.

I just saw your tag, Jessica. "Or three times in every life. Or twice. I mean once." I made Stephen watch with me this morning, and he was doubled over by that point.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I consider myself INCREDIBLY lucky that my kids have never cut their own or each others' hair. Yet.

Because books.

Don't get too comfortable. Sara cut some of her own hair not two years ago.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I said yet!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

There's really no way to hide the smallest chunk of attempted hair-cutting with kinky black folk hair. Man, I fucked my sister's do up something awful.

Rite of passage, that's what I'm filing it under...
