Happy birthday, askye!

Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Happy birthday, askye! Life begins at 40, so they say. I hope that it brings all good things your way.
{{Bonny}} {{smonster}} Sorry about the crazies disrupting your life.
Skip this paragraph to avoid icky medical stuff. My employee who finally after years of argument discussion has finally abandoned her devotion to all that is woo~woo treatment moved to ICU a couple days ago. She was admitted a week ago yesterday. Friday they did a procedure to help recover her collapsed lung and she had a bad reaction to either the anesthesia or antibiotic. Her test results are about as bad as they could be. Stage IV, in her breast, lung, liver. She is so thin they are trying to beef her up before starting chemo. On the plus side she is trying to forgive herself for waiting years too long and is bound and determined to fight. Her family has been wonderful and supportive. Her DH and the kids pretty much sterilized their house in anticipation of her being released. No timeline for that happening. It is so hard to feel optimistic when she waited so long and looks so emaciated.
In happier news, DH's cousin and her long time girlfriend got engaged today per the announcement on FB. They live in the redest of red states so I hope they don't have to wait too long to get married. So far as I know both the families have been nothing but supportive of their relationship and have responded with joy to this news. My wish is that this was the case for all couples, gay and straight. We were enjoying the wrong suggestions that FB was offering for gifts. Cousin thinks you should be able to choose which advertisements are attached to your congratulatory posts.
Happy birthday, askye!
Didn't mean to hit post.
Laura, that is so sad about your employee. I hope now that she's in treatment, she will improve.
And blessings on the heads of your DH's cousins.
bonny, what a mess. I'm sorry you had to deal with that.
Laura, I'm so sorry about your employee. Tons of ~ma headed her way. Also, yay for your DH's cousin.
Guests just left. I think brunch was a success. Now it is time to collapse on the couch. TCG's car is in the shop, and he will have mine tomorrow. So, I don't even need to make an excuse about why I can't leave the house tomorrow.
In world's colliding type stuff our Cashmere and DH's cousin J often post the same links with roller derby stuff which amuses me. So I try and explain to my cousin in Nebraska how I learned about that derby stuff from my friend in Wisconsin. They both show their bruise pictures.
It is also fun when disparate friends will share the same articles on subjects you had no idea were important to them.
Happy birthday, askye!
ION, naptime = win
Happy Birthday, askye!
Thanks for the kind thoughts.
I spoke to an attorney who said exactly what David said.
We will be sending a letter stating, "We accept your resignation, as verbally submitted by you...etc."
The attorney suggested we stop talking altogether and that paying for any of the 'damages' the guy is claiming is a personal choice on the owner's part but not legally required. She probably will do so, but I wish she would not.
On a personal, purely childish note...quit reading if you aren't having a good Father's Day... ----
Today I am feeling sorry for myself for a few minutes. Here is yet another crazy old man, lying about me, blaming me for their own whacked shit and putting me in a position to have to be the one to take the higher ground. Sometimes I fraking _weary_ of hearing 'let it go'. Let HIM be the one to make it right...for one damn ONCE. You know?

End of rant.
He is a 1099 with the company.
Wait, if he is being paid on a 1099 then isn't he an independent contractor and not even really an employee?
