Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

I am not cranky. Today. But I've gotten some stuff done and the office is closing early.

Just to show how stupid it's possible to be:

Yesterday morning the news radio was full of dire forecasts about the weather, the holiday traffic, how awful it was going to be. To do on-the-spot reports on the weather and traffic, a TV crew set up. Right where a major road feeds into I-95 (where, of course, much of the holiday traffic IS). They set up their super-bright lights. Just where anyone coming off the major road onto I-95 would be blinded by lights glaring into their eyes.

The traffic report had a notice that there was congestion and tie-ups right there.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Aims... Oh boy. You have my sympathies.

I am personally not cranky on the grounds that I am rummaging through my collection of fabric scraps for things I can use to make a cute and/or pretty patch for an arm sling that someone at work wears. I'm making a mess for a good cause!

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Sorry about the mil stress, Aims.

Last cycle I didn't have any bad side effects from the fertility meds. This month I'm weepy and full of rage. The only difference is I didn't use the Ovidrel shot last cycle and this cycle I did. Anyone else take an Ovidrel shot and had an emotional side effect?

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Family fun: My Mom just took an email that was actually a reply to me with her added to invite us to a social thing. Mom somehow decided that my sending the original mail from one account and already replying again meant that she should send her reply to the other email account I have with the stupid name that I really never want to be associated with work or people that I am a grownup around.

Why?

That makes no sense and she hasn't emailed back when I asked and stated again that I prefer to use the gmail address that is simply my name.

I don't like my worlds colliding. I especially don't like when people are throwing them into each other intentionally for no reason.

Our wings are not tired.

Yum! I just finished making the sausage stuffing and the apple nut variety. (Well, Bobby made the sausage one) Also did some more prep stuff and washed too many pans and bowls. Enough for the night.

Feet up and wine glass in hand.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

I'm going to a fancy dinner out tomorrow (with beer pairings!) but I would really love a big ole pile of mashed potatoes and gravy. Hm, I'll make a mini-turkey dinner over the weekend.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Crap. I forgot I told my sister I'd bring appetizers. I was so focused on the stupid last-minute addition of sweet potato rolls, I forgot about the cheese and crackers. I don't want to shop on Thanksgiving.

Lots of stores that sell cheese and crackers are open until 11pm, or even 24 hours. At least locally to me. Different regions have different customs in this matter.

Potato rolls are common.Sweet potato rolls, not so much. If you find them they may be called sweet potato biscuits. If you can't find them, find out if your sister will be satisfied with potato rolls which you can find in most supermarkets.

Trader Joe's has sweet potato biscuits, though I can't guarantee any particular trader joe's has them and I don't even remember from past conversations if you have a TJ near you. If TJ does have it you can get the crackers and cheese there too.
