Thanks everyone. I'm just having that thing where, because my feelings towards her in life were complex, so are my feelings in her loss.
Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Burrell, I have written and erased and written an erased a bunch, not knowing how much to say or how much to share. But I just want you to know that your sister's decisions on where to expend her energy and affection have nothing to do with you. It absolutely sucks being left to pick up the mess, and I am so sorry.
There's a bit in Gaudy Night about how sickness or death doesn't automatically make a person more lovable.
I'm so sorry Burrell.
Oh, Burrell. That is super hard.
I have no thoughts about psychopaths vs. sociopaths.
Burrell, I am so sorry you are going through this.
We just looked at a property with great square footage and great location. But it needs a LOT of love. [link]
Relatedly, smonster, insent!
I'm just having that thing where, because my feelings towards her in life were complex, so are my feelings in her loss.
I think feelings tend to be more complex after a loss, not less. And I am sorry.
{{{Burrell}} I'm sorry that it is all so hard.
Nora, are you thinking of buying something in NO?
I thought there was a difference between psychopaths and sociopaths only because Sherlock corrected a detective about which he was in the BBC show. But otherwise, I don't know much about it.
I'm ridiculously tired today for no good reason and keep dropping things. Including a cobalt glass plate that shattered into more pieces than I thought possible. I reserved a book for a book signing tomorrow, but now I'm not sure if I want to go or if I even have enough spoons to stand in line that long.

The self-described sociopath who I know is *extremely* fond of quoting that line from Sherlock, complete with an attempt at an accent. I just feel like if you're that committed to letting everyone know you're a sociopath, you're not a sociopath. You're just trying to get a reaction.
I told Hubby about self-confessed sociopaths, and his reaction was "Oh, how kind of them to identify themselves, we can get a recording and send it to the police as fair warning."
