Oh, Burrell. That is super hard.
I have no thoughts about psychopaths vs. sociopaths.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Burrell, I am so sorry you are going through this.
We just looked at a property with great square footage and great location. But it needs a LOT of love. [link]
Relatedly, smonster, insent!
I'm just having that thing where, because my feelings towards her in life were complex, so are my feelings in her loss.
I think feelings tend to be more complex after a loss, not less. And I am sorry.
{{{Burrell}} I'm sorry that it is all so hard.
Nora, are you thinking of buying something in NO?
I thought there was a difference between psychopaths and sociopaths only because Sherlock corrected a detective about which he was in the BBC show. But otherwise, I don't know much about it.
I'm ridiculously tired today for no good reason and keep dropping things. Including a cobalt glass plate that shattered into more pieces than I thought possible. I reserved a book for a book signing tomorrow, but now I'm not sure if I want to go or if I even have enough spoons to stand in line that long.
I thought there was a difference between psychopaths and sociopaths only because Sherlock corrected a detective about which he was in the BBC show.
The self-described sociopath who I know is *extremely* fond of quoting that line from Sherlock, complete with an attempt at an accent. I just feel like if you're that committed to letting everyone know you're a sociopath, you're not a sociopath. You're just trying to get a reaction.
I told Hubby about self-confessed sociopaths, and his reaction was "Oh, how kind of them to identify themselves, we can get a recording and send it to the police as fair warning."
I don't know about sociopaths. Except what I see on Criminal Minds and I know that's not accurate.
So, work is hitting a rough patch, mostly due to technical problems and a little bit because I'm getting conflicting information. My department manager is telling me to look to my resources on the employee system before asking people, but other people are telling me to ask people first.
And parts of the employee system frequently go down so there's no way to look them up anyway. Or I'm doing key word searches the way I think things should be phrased but doesn't work with the company's phrasing.
I brought up the idea of making a binder with useful information and told my dept manager but he started to shut it down becuase he doesn't like binders, but I pitched him the idea and he asked for a mock up. So I need to mock something up.
The other full time person in my position gave her 2 weeks notice yesterday, but I think they approached a guy who is a full time cashier and has worked at the store for several years for the position. I kind of hope he gets it because we get along and work well together.
This is all really long but if you've read that far I could use some suggestions for portable, non messy (to carry or eat), filling snacks. Preferable things that don't need refrigeration and are not hummus (I don't like hummus). It's really hard to find someone to cover my position and there's usually overlap between the opening and closing person but that not until 2 or 3 in the afternoon.
And they rearranged our little pick up/phone area so it's less private and customers can see more. So I'm looking for snacks I could shove in a desk drawer and nibble on.
Snack pack sizes of almonds.
Almonds are a good idea. I usually bring a little container of roasted nuts to work so I can snack on them all day. I'm also a big fan of Kind bars, especially the sea salt and dark chocolate bar.
Nora, are you thinking of buying something in NO?
Thinking about it vaguely. It's not something we need to do, but I liked the look of this place despite the work it needs and the location is right next to a super booming area.
