God, bonny. I hope the cluestick gets through... and I kinda hope it hurts a little.
askye, that is a truly excellent burn.
I'm so thrilled that we're halfway to the goal for Ginger! I need to make my own donation and share it on fb.
We are finishing up a job today; it's earlier than expected because their construction budget was ridiculously small and we are... not cheap. So they've hired someone to finish up our work and aren't even letting us install hardware, even though we offered to do it for nearly as low as the other guy.
It's not a great feeling. We feel awkward, and I'm sure they do too (the wife works from home). We could have communicated better and we've learned a lot from it, but it sucks to go out this way. Ah well.
And then there's the fact that we don't have the green light on our next job yet. WHEE!!
I hope the new social worker is at least much less moronic, and perhaps even polite, respectful, and competent.
Not usually, but thanks for the optimism, Laura.
I've had a tiny percentage like that, but they generally move on quickly.
I was a little harsh on the last guy in my description, but his manners weren't good, and he was *clearly* unsuited to his current job, both in an idealized world where he could be my advocate, and, real life, where he just keeps the trains running halfway on time.
Best of luck with the new social worker, erika.
I don't really care who they are, I just hope we can avoid the big fight we had last year.
Although it is always nice when a moment alone with that person doesn't make me all "KMN"
Zen, did you receive an email from me at about 10am today?
I sent it to your profile address but I've been having trouble with my email lately.
Okay, I am laughing my butt off. We got a wedding present today in the form of a check (very much welcome to fund our honeymoon and Oh God The Bathroom Is A Horror renovation fund). The check was made out to "Tim and Steph." That's it. No last names.
I don't think our bank is going to accept it.
t sarcastic understatement
I'm tempted to scribble my last name after "Steph" and then go to the bank with Tim and photo ID for both of us and explain we're engaged and...can we PLEASE deposit it?
Although I think altering a check is illegal.
You never read this.
Do you have a joint account? I just endorse checks 'For Deposit' with the account number on the back no matter how they are made out. They are pretty much processed by machine now anyway. Usually I make deposits via ATM.
We don't have a joint account yet. I was hoping that scribbling my last name on the check would let me deposit it into my account. (I'm not greedy; it's just because it's made out to "Tim and Steph," so there's room after my name. If it was made out to "Steph and Tim," then Tim could scribble his name.)
