Book: Yes, I'd forgotten you're moonlighting as a criminal mastermind now. Got your next heist planned? Simon: No. But I'm thinking about growing a big black mustache. I'm a traditionalist.

'War Stories'

Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Epic, talk about gratifying! That's wonderful.

Congrats Epic!

I've had two MINOR boosts - one was having made a quick response to someone with a request for information, she started off her reply with *impressed* in bold. The other was a woman who told me I'd left the clearest and most coherent voicemail message she'd heard.

So ... minor, but still gratifying.

Seriously, we have to savor these moments as being too few and far between.

Thank you everyone. Objectively I can see that I'm successful, but at the end of the day I still see the guy with a couple of theater degrees responsible for a lot of peoples lives, and interacting with a a lot of very business minded people. I spend more time behind a spreadsheet that I do behind sound equipment lately and it's easy for that to overwhelm me.

ND, you've made a success of a business - expanded, hiring people to work for you, from what I've seen managing it well and humanely for those people. You're no imposter.

Punishingly Intricate

That's great, Epic!

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

So not an imposter. Any of you.

I can't even get my Purchasing department to tell me that more than half of the 269 vehicles scheduled to be delivered in April have been pushed back to May by the manufacturer. I had to find out from the client who was told by the dealer. It has been a shitstorm since about 5 pm yesterday. My VP is livid that we and customer service were not informed of this major issue.

Maria, we have a new communications person who sends out news releases, but only lets one other person know - he puts the text up on a secondary website we have. As a result, when someone calls or emails about the content, they get a big "huh?" ... which makes us look SO good. And nothing will persuade her that sharing the info with staff just might be a good idea.
