They have school on Election Day? My school was a polling place, but we always had the day off. I'd keep them home if it's at all doable.

Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Heck, at my work place forks and spoons disappear with disturbing alacrity (and never return....where do they go???) while my set must needs remain in my lunch bag, never to mingle with the herd in the lunchroom dishwasher for fear of meeting that same mysterious fate.
Man, a few years ago I finally got a matching set of flatware (true story - by bartering for jewelry with someone in my therapy group). Then my first roommate here would borrow pieces to take to lunch… and bring back different pieces at the end of the day. NOT OKAY. I no longer have a matching set. To that roommate, wherever she be: may your cats be synchro pissing on your pillow at this very moment, and may you not discover it until you lay your head down tonight (she also refused to pay her share of our water bills after an insane leak, on the grounds that it was my job to negotiate with the landlord. Despite us both being on the lease).
Glamcookie, are your kids' schools early voting polling places, or just Nov. 8? Because early voting starts Thursday in NC, and 2.5 weeks is a long time to keep kids out.
Glam, I think you should be okay. If you are *really* concerned, you could check the demographics of those polling stations. Which sounds awful. I think and hope it's just a lot of posturing. If they were in an area where a poor black population butts up against a more rural white population, then maybe?

Just Nov 8.
Yeah I'm not really looking forward to the voting situation. Itsunami weird it's in schools and around here it's a weird mix.
I'm driving back from FL and there are ants in the car. I'm at Walgreens to get some kind of ant trap for my car until I can clean it properly.

Preschool is in West Raleigh (2 minutes from our house) and elementary school is in Cary.
Glam, I am paranoid and would probably keep them home that day.
In GA the school was a polling place but the voting was in the gym and it was really separate from the student entrance. So my decision might be swayed by the layout of the specific locations. (Now my polling place is a Unitarian Church, which might tell you something about my neighborhood. In this city they seem not to vote at schools.)
I'm less worried about the elementary school as it is a large school and I'm sure they'll keep voters away from students. The preschool is in a church and seems less secure...
