Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

My knees didn't click walking up the three flights of stairs in my building.

Hah, this weekend at the dance convention one of the classes I took was about turning. So she had us moving back and forth between weight on one foot vs the other, and turning a bit. And my knees cracked each time I turned. Ay!

I look more rad than Lutheranism

My knees sound like tissue paper. In fact, they might be made out of it.

I can't even.

That means so much, smonster. Thank you. I'm a bit verklempt at seeing and missing everyone, and while things are okay with me, I've had some bleak times too. Which I could have made better just by coming here. And I will.

I do value FB for giving me little glimpses into what's going on with you folks, but it doesn't have the same flow that the board does.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Yeah, I'm another one grinning like a fool over having a bunch of lovely and much-missed friends posting here again. I hope you all stick around for a while, but even if that's not feasible, it's so good to reconnect and see you again.

I do value FB for giving me little glimpses into what's going on with you folks, but it doesn't have the same flow that the board does.

Same. I do love FB for pictures, but otherwise the board is much better for the kind of conversations I'm interested in having (or, often, just reading -- though I'm going to try to participate more too).

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Because of the nature of FB, and the inability to easily filter out specific people from a post, I share less over there than I do here. With you all, I'm more open and vulnerable. I can discuss politics and vent about work.

Like Kate said, FB is great for pictures, but when I really want to talk to people, I come here.

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

Dang Aims, that's pencil pouch plan is sheer genius! Heckuva lotta work up front but how great for the kiddos to be in full control of their tools with consequences and accountability. I know adults who still can't keep track of pens. Heck, at my work place forks and spoons disappear with disturbing alacrity (and never return....where do they go???) while my set must needs remain in my lunch bag, never to mingle with the herd in the lunchroom dishwasher for fear of meeting that same mysterious fate. I would have loved that system so much.

move out and draw fire

My mom, who taught art to all ages, said cutting in a straight line was really difficult and almost no one could do it.

My son needs a pencil pouch audit day. Also possibly an ass-with-both-hands audit day.

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

I can draw straight lines on curved eggshells with precision but cant cut a straight line with scissors. That's what paper cutters were made for, right? But I always assumed that was due to being left handed while using right handed scissors (because the left handed scissors were either impossible to find or so dull that tearing seeming a better option,)

I can't even.

I could use an ass-with-both-hands audit day some weeks.

I correspond by email with a friend who lives 5 hours away, and we regularly talk about the shirt-on-backwards, fly unzipped mornings. "Went for the trifecta today: forgot my security pass, had my shirt on inside-out (which I realized, in the coffee shop!), zipped up my pants after noticing everyone smiling at me."

Sigh. I don't remember being this dotty. I distinctly remember being one of those smug, overly-shit-togethery sort of people. I guess this is payback.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

So, I'm trying to figure out if this is an issue worth worrying about or not. I looked it up and both of my kids' schools are polling places for the election. We live in NC. I'm REALLY tempted to keep them home that day with all of the talk of Trumpians showing up to intimidate folks - this is an open carry state. WWYD?
