Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I can't even.

I could use an ass-with-both-hands audit day some weeks.

I correspond by email with a friend who lives 5 hours away, and we regularly talk about the shirt-on-backwards, fly unzipped mornings. "Went for the trifecta today: forgot my security pass, had my shirt on inside-out (which I realized, in the coffee shop!), zipped up my pants after noticing everyone smiling at me."

Sigh. I don't remember being this dotty. I distinctly remember being one of those smug, overly-shit-togethery sort of people. I guess this is payback.

So, I'm trying to figure out if this is an issue worth worrying about or not. I looked it up and both of my kids' schools are polling places for the election. We live in NC. I'm REALLY tempted to keep them home that day with all of the talk of Trumpians showing up to intimidate folks - this is an open carry state. WWYD?

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

They have school on Election Day? My school was a polling place, but we always had the day off. I'd keep them home if it's at all doable.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Heck, at my work place forks and spoons disappear with disturbing alacrity (and never return....where do they go???) while my set must needs remain in my lunch bag, never to mingle with the herd in the lunchroom dishwasher for fear of meeting that same mysterious fate.

Man, a few years ago I finally got a matching set of flatware (true story - by bartering for jewelry with someone in my therapy group). Then my first roommate here would borrow pieces to take to lunch… and bring back different pieces at the end of the day. NOT OKAY. I no longer have a matching set. To that roommate, wherever she be: may your cats be synchro pissing on your pillow at this very moment, and may you not discover it until you lay your head down tonight (she also refused to pay her share of our water bills after an insane leak, on the grounds that it was my job to negotiate with the landlord. Despite us both being on the lease).

Glamcookie, are your kids' schools early voting polling places, or just Nov. 8? Because early voting starts Thursday in NC, and 2.5 weeks is a long time to keep kids out.

Glam, I think you should be okay. If you are *really* concerned, you could check the demographics of those polling stations. Which sounds awful. I think and hope it's just a lot of posturing. If they were in an area where a poor black population butts up against a more rural white population, then maybe?

Thrive to spite them

Yeah I'm not really looking forward to the voting situation. Itsunami weird it's in schools and around here it's a weird mix.

I'm driving back from FL and there are ants in the car. I'm at Walgreens to get some kind of ant trap for my car until I can clean it properly.

Preschool is in West Raleigh (2 minutes from our house) and elementary school is in Cary.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Glam, I am paranoid and would probably keep them home that day.
