Lorne: Back in Pylea they used to call me "sweet potato." Connor: Really. Lorne: Yeah, well, the exact translation was "fragrant tuber" but…

Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Our wings are not tired.

She laughed at my response so I blew her kisses. We have pretty much agreed not to talk about the election. She voted for Obama the last 2 elections, but she is a big Giuliani fan and Brooklyn girl and all that. I just don't understand. She also has Hillary issues with Iran supposedly because of being Jewish. It is just incomprehensible to me so I don't engage for the sake of the friendship, which works on so many other levels. She'll get over it after the election.

What is even happening?

Okay, first of all, I want to thank all of you, from the bottom of my heart, who are vibing, praying for, or thinking of my father-in-law. Seriously, istas, that hit home.

Secondly, Erika, I'm so sorry to hear about your grandmother. I pray for peace and strength for you and your family.

Thirdly? Tep, I'm sorry you have been so worried about Tim. I'm glad he got a good after-report, but I know you love him (like carrots but bigger). Will never stop praying for him.

Fourthly? SJ you are a great momma, just let the demons go.

@Hil R, have a great date, girl.

Again.... thank you all for remembering my f-i-l in your thoughts, when I haven't been here in years. This shows your sweet soulsl.

(Speaking of sweet souls, I'm thinking of JZ, right now.)

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

She also has Hillary issues with Iran supposedly because of being Jewish.

She should watch the Zero Days documentary about Stuxnet which makes it clear that Obama (and his Sec. of State) worked actively to dismantle Iran's nuclear program to protect Israel.

Our wings are not tired.

Oh I know, David, but this is a hopeless case. The only solution is to blow them all up, and she would discount any facts as lies. I have 4 hard core cases that I can not devote any energy to anymore. This election needs to be in the rear view mirror. I have to believe sanity will prevail.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

My ankle hurts. I don't technically have to go to campus today, but I really should go and get some work done. I can do it from home, but it will be easier at my office. I just wish that going to the office didn't have to mean a long walk from the parking garage to my office building. (I'm on a waiting list to get a parking tag for a closer garage. I've been on the waiting list for a year.)

Our wings are not tired.

Do they have any of those golf cart type people running around to give you a lift from the parking area?

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Hil, that is really unacceptable. I'm sorry.

Thanks, Cindy. I wish it was that easy. I had a pretty good week last week and yesterday. Today is horrible. I'm exhausted and miserable. I had to force myself into the shower while ltc slept because I have friends coming over, but I really just wanted to nap. I wish I knew what is different about today.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

A late, but heartfelt, "Yay!" for Tim's good lung news.

Hil, I hope tonight's date goes well.

askye, one of the things I do at work is put Coursera courses together (no poetry ones, alas). We get students at all levels, with all kinds of backgrounds. Your perspective on the poetry will be appreciated. I hope you end up finding the course fulfilling. And if you find it doesn't suit you, assuming you're not doing the paid certificate thing, you can always say "to heck with it". I've started dozens of courses just to see how they're constructed and how the content's presented. I think I've finished three.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Steph, such good news about Tim--and I'm glad you guys celebrated appropriately. It's just too awful how hard the lead-up to the good news was. I hope this eases at least some of the tension you've been under for a while.
