This morning was interesting. It started snowing sooner than expected and a bit more and sticking on the roads, especially in the higher elevations.
So the counties had early release at 10:30. Mom was at exercise class and I forgot. Bro texted me to get E ... I tried to get mom. Then said I'd go...foolishly tried to drive up to his house (then walk/ran up a steep hill) to see if the spare booster seat was there. Nope. So the plan changed to - I 'd go to school, hang out with E until bro's gf could bring her booster seat and drop it off (she was teaching class until almost 11). And I'd drive him home.
But just as I start to pull on the main road my phone starts blowing up with texts. Mom got out of exercise class and will get E! Bro and Mom are sending me the same message. Plus I'm getting a booster seat for my car this weekend.
Then I had to carefully find a way to turn around and drive back up to the house.
And on FB the school district post is getting complaints because it's supposed to warm up to 41F and why don't they just keep the kids in school until stuff melts BUT if doesn't melt fast enough there will probably be people who can't get down to the schools because of road conditions.
Also heard back from a therapist I contacted. He's in Hendersonville which is east of here and kind of backroads to get here. Looking on the map there's only about 15 minute drive distance between his office and locations in Asheville BUT going to Asheville means more traffic and the interstate and I'd rather deal with back roads where I can go slow if needed. I see the other therapist Wednesday and I'll let her know I'm exploring other options.
I feel a little more in control.
