Saffron: But we've been wed. Aren't we to become one flesh? Mal: Well, no, uh... We're still two fleshes here, and I think that your flesh ought to sleep somewhere else.

Thrive to spite them

And Mom went to the store before coming home ... and now she can't get up the mountain at all. I was kind of worried about that, but they haven't plowed the "easier" road (fewer hair pin turns) and 3 cars are off the road. Maybe if she'd come straight here it would have been better? Not sure. Maybe the school should have waited.

Safety ~ma for Mom and my nephew right now.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Safety~ma for your Mom and E, askye. I'm glad you're feeling more in control.

Thrive to spite them

They were fine , just stuck in town to have lunch.

Turns out by normal release time the roads (at least here ) were clear so maybe they could have had a full day but it was worse in some locations.

Monday is iffy because it should be 1-2" of snow/sleet but maybe not.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Oh, good. Yeah, snow/sleet sounds unpromising.

My backyard is super icy right now because of the thaw/freeze cycle.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I woke up, and it's 12 degrees outside and my heat isn't working. Called the landlord, and he came over and looked at it but couldn't fix it, so the HVAC guy is coming sometime today. I've got the space heater running in the meantime.

The heater got fixed. I was actually pretty impressed -- the landlord came over within about half an hour of me calling him, and then he found a repairman to come and fix it on a Saturday morning, and it was fixed within a few hours. And the landlord brought over a space heater for me to use in the meantime, too.
