Angel: I appreciate you guys looking out for Connor all summer. It's just—he's confused. He needs time. That's all. Fred: Right. Time, and some corporal punishment with a large heavy mallet. Not that I'm bitter.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Thanks. I was wearing my ankle brace, so it wasn't as bad as it could have been. Definitely going to need to take it easy for a day or two, though.

My in-laws are probably going to still bitch about all the books when they're here this weekend.

Because there aren't enough? I mean, that's the only reason I can think to bitch about books.

We'd love to have you over, and I feel horrible I haven't made it happen yet.

Piffle! You're busy growing a person, you've got other stuff to worry about. You can have me over whenever. I am also thrilled to be the person who comes over and sits with the baby so that you and TCG can finally get some sleep, but know that there's someone there.

Argh. Painkillers are helping a bit, and fic was distracting me from the pain, but now AO3 is down just as the heroes of the story I was reading were cornered by monologing villains.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Yeah, I just got the "Ao3 is down" email. I guess that means I should work on other things. School starts tomorrow, so I need to make food, and re-up my CPR training.

Our wings are not tired.

Hope that today is a less ouchy day, Hil.

For reals! At least you can be assured that normal humans are never offended by too many books. Too many books? Yeah, that just doesn't sound right.

Thrive to spite them

The only time I felt I had too many books was moving to vermont so I pared down. But have required books.

Today is hot. Work went well even though I barely got any sleep and way overslept instead of panicking or throwin in the towel I went. It was hot and sticky. I also took the plunge and asked for another day added on the next schedule.

Plus I talked to customers and did not cry. And I forgot to take my meds. I also bought a new microwave because mine started sparking.

But wait there's more to this day! My tore went flat while I was driving. I got it off the road on the side of some farm's road. Realized I didn't have my phone. I don't have AAA. But I attempted to get the tire changed. No such luck those lug nuts were in firm. So I walked until I found someone who let me use their phone to call Will and who drove me home. Wasnt that fa but it's like 94 outside and I had on black pants and polyester work shirt. So hot.

Thus has come with ZERO anxiety attacks. And I came up with a back up plan if Will couldn't help but that would have waited until tomorrow. He can help so it's all good.

I am declaring myself Queen of Adult in for the day. Well after I make a phone call. Last month I couldn't have done this. Today is the first day I've really felt I'm making major progress.

The movers stacked a couple of really heavy huge boxes on top of other boxes, and I can't get them down to unpack them. There are some workers renovating the other apartment in this building, owned by the same landlord as mine. My landlord said to talk to one of them if there were any problems with the apartment. Is it OK for me to ask one of them to get the boxes down?

brillig

Heck, I'd have just poked my head out and asked if there was someone strong I could borrow for a couple of minutes.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

askye, you are the Queen of Adulting for the day! Hell, maybe the week. Pretty awesome.

Is it OK for me to ask one of them to get the boxes down?

I suggest the Connie Neil Method of Acquiring Strong Men. And since the same person owns both buildings, there wouldn't be any legal or insurance problems if he were injured by the box.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I would ask, and if you feel uncomfortable about it in anyway, you could always offer to tip them for their time.
