Ooh! First twenty!
'Out Of Gas'
Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
OH HAI NEW THREAD!
(excited. but not that excited.)
I have a question for the sewing people among us.
I am using a Singer Inspiration 4212 for the first time. (inherited from my surrogate mom when she moved)
I've watched the video and read the manual to ensure that I had not forgotten how to properly make a bobbin and thread the machine. Turns out the threading is remarkably similar to the two Featherweights I use.
Problem...the thread balls up on the bottom of the fabric, as if the tension is wrong. I've adjusted and readjusted everything I can think of to fix it, to no avail.
There does not seem to be a feed dog adjuster and the manual does not address this problem.
Anyone have an idea of what is going on? Google is not helping me!
I cannot help you, bonny. This is why I don't sew by machine. I will spend hours hand sewing to avoid using the machine. I generally rip out every seam at least once. My favorite thing to do with a sewing machine is throw it out the window.
Perhaps someone with a mellower relationship with sewing machines can offer advice.
Windsparrow, I am your sister in sinus headaches. I hope you fine relief. Hot compresses occasionally help mine.
Zen, sorry about the disappointing movie. And Strix, yay for good hair and good times!
And Sean, what they all said about the job. You'll find stuff about Atlanta to love. Aside from the 50K and the bennies!
Usually the balling up issue is caused by the top thread not being threaded right, a small piece of thread caught in the feed dogs from previous problems, or the bobbin thread going in the wrong direction. You could also try switching needles.
Marking Sophia's post for the next time this happens to me...
Hello! Long time no see. Sorry for the dark grey. I'm about 2,000 posts behind in the old thread. Yikes. Miss y'all.
Sleep and health ~ma to everyone, and Sean, I'll add my voice to those who say a 50K job in Atlanta with full bennies beats being broke in LA, no contest.
Wait, what? I missed something good. I know nothing about the job except what is above. Dude. $50k in Atlanta will go a lot farthur than in LA! A little verklempt. I mean. If anyone deserves good paying job, it's you! But, then you'd be leaving LA. And I don't get to see ya enough as it is! Must dig thru old bitches and find details.
Hair pats/hugs/high fives to everyone else for all that I missed.
I finally got new bed, with new memory foam mattress. I'm down to about 6-8 boxes from moving. They are clutter and pictures/theater programs stuff. Not really an unpack thing. Getting there. Coming up on a year since I got keys, and 8 months since I could unpack from the hole-in-floor construction crap.
Mext week I have Date #2 with the dinner with 6 folks. We shall see if any of these ladies strike a fancy. Either way, it's the last of the contract. And given how crappy the service has been, and how pricey, I'm not going to renew the contract.
Other than that. Super lazy day today. Past few weeks have been exhausting. No me-time. Must decompress. Plus, legs and arms are a bit on the achey side. So. Catching up on TiVo.
I keep telling myself that you left and came back, o_a. Still, if this is such a no-brainer, why is it weighing so heavy on me, and it's not even a real offer yet?
