Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

askye, I was on 150mg for a couple of years, at first along with time released Clonazepam at night for sleep. It worked great for my anxiety, but a different doctor than my first one (he moved out of network) took me off the Clonazepam. She said it causes dementia in older adults. Now, I'm not sure just how old older is (I'm 57) and she didn't say how long you had to be on it for it to have that severe an effect. Unfortunately for me, the anxiety started to come back within a year or so and I waited way too long to push the issue with her. I finally had her refer me to an anxiety specialist who works with CBT and that's helped some, but also having my doctor increase my Lamictal to 200mg has really helped. Even my new job doesn't stress me as much as my old one did and that's saying a lot when something completely new and unknown is less scary than something you've been around for 3 years.

All that to say, I'm pretty sure you'll find the bump up helpful, and it may even help enough you eventually won't feel the need for the Clonazepam (Klonopin).

Thrive to spite them

I've been taking Lamictal in the morning b/c that's what they did at the hospital but the direction just say once a day. I think I'm going to switch to night because I think it's another thing making me sleepy/dizzy and that's not helping during the day.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Yeah, my doc has me take it at night. I tried it in the morning for a while (it doesn't make me sleepy, and I was wondering if it was keeping me awake), and switched by gradually taking it earlier over a few days.

Thrive to spite them

I'm so exhausted I took a nap. I'm falling asleep.

I've eaten enough to call it dinner.

I'm going to take my meds and go to bed at 5:30. Well I may read a bit but definitly head to bed. althoug the stupid motorcycles will keep me up and hopefully I won't be able to hear the neighbors across the street talking about something and swearing. Not that I have anything against swearing I'm just cranky.

The windows are up because otherwise it's stuffy.

This post brought to you by sleep deprived rambling.

Won't take the lamtical tonight will wait and take it tomorrow night.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I saw my doctor Wednesday and he increased my Lexapro dose. I'm hoping the combination of a higher dose and 7 seasons of Parks and Recreation will snap me out of this grey blah unmotivated depression.

(I also told my doctor -- this is Awesome Doctor -- about Tim's collapsed lung, and he said, without missing a beat, "So I assume you're out of Ativan after all that, and need a refill?")

Oh, that's a good doctor, Steph. I hope the new dose helps.

All my doctors have had me take the Lamictal in the morning. It's never given me any problems taking it then. I'm not sure it would make any difference for me if I took it at night.

That's a very good doctor.

He also agreed with me that "Spontaneous Pneumothorax" is a great name for a heavy metal band.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

We're having trouble doing the subQ fluids for Harvey. It's keeping me in the weepy, can't handle this, stage of freaking out. So far we have tried a smaller guage needle, but not the smallest. The vet tech warned us that the smallest guage needles drag out the process significantly longer. But Harvey is so restless and squirmy, that I cannot hold him by myself but Daniel's hands are busy with the needle and squeezing the bag. Turns out, Harvey's a biter. In 17 years he's never snapped at me, but he got me yesterday, and Daniel today.

I'm sorry I can't be as supportive to you all as you deserve but I feel like I'm drowning.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Aww, WindSparrow, you don't have to be supportive for everybody all the time, much as I know you're inclined to. You're totally deserving of getting some support your own self!

So hard with Harvey. I'm sorry you're having to go through this, and I wish it was easier. But you are doing the best you can for him, and he has been lucky to have you all these years.
