Maria, continued job-ma, go you! I'm selfishly thinking you might have to be nearby every once in a while if you get this job.
G's dad did not pay me for today's adventures in babysitting. Now the question is whether or not to mention this to H next time I see her.
oh Maria, that is really awesome. More 'ma for you.
I'm about 20 minutes from the Fort Lauderdale airport. Just sayin'.
I live one exit away from the Long Beach Airport (LGB)!
[thankfully not on approach or takeoff side!]
Yay for the New Hampshire interview!
I'm about a half hour away from the world's busiest airport.
On the plus side, I got a work email that I might need to go to Portland more, which would be way better than Iowa.
This is always true, no matter what the context.
~ma and hugs all around!
Did I tell you guys how I watched fireworks on the 4th?
I usually don't because the downtown of Cedar Rapids is small and congested. but around 9:30 as I was getting ready for bed there were several loud explosions really close by.
So I walked outside - in my pajamas - to see where the culprits with the illeagal booms were. I walked all the way to the street - my building is set way back. As I was seeing the rockets come from behind my building I noticed that I could see the downtown fireworks through the trees on my side of the street. So, I walked into the street to see them better.
I should mention that this is the main street through town. It's 5 lanes, 2 for each direction and a center left-turning lane. I meant to cross all the way to the other side but noticed the best view was from the middle of the road. There wasn't much traffic, everyone was downtown, I guess.
So I stood in the middle of the busiest street in town, well lit by street lights, in my pajamas and watched the fireworks.
After a cop car stopped and told me not to get hit - not "get out of the street!" just "don't get hit" - I watched for a little while longer.
Until it dawned on me that I was STANDING IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY STREET IN MY PAJAMAS! that was my evening.
In my defense, I did not get hit and I may have been under the influence of 4 hard ciders.
I love you people. Thank you.
Not counting my chickens before they hatch, but I have to think that being flown up is a good sign. I told him that the only day I couldn't is 8/5, and he said he wants me up there sooner than that.
More money, more travel, working out of the house, better benefits, more vacation. And respect. Almost forgot what that is like.
Maria, that sounds awesome. Lots of good thoughts heading your way.
Please do count your chickens before they're hatched. They may be dangerous at any later point.
And I'm vibing hard for the awesome job!
I think it's a good sign, Maria!
