Herding cats for fun

I enjoy doing "prone yoga." I just lie on the bed for awhile and then point my toes at the ceiling. I get a nice stretch even if no additional motivation occurs.

It is just lovely to be getting old.

In happier news, a hummingbird has built her tiny nest on a bracket next door in the covered part of the driveway. She's proved to my satisfaction that she recognizes me with the way she always comes out to dance in the air at my eye level when I show myself. I keep feeders clean and topped up, plus I won't let the neighbor get rid of the sprawling Mexican sage because she likes the purple flowers there.

Hope I get to see the babies. So do the neighbors. And the cats.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

That hummingbird sounds totally cool. I have a hummingbird feeder, I've just never put it up. This summer, then.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Oh, yes, I've been thinking of putting up a hummingbird feeder, too. I put a regular feeder in the trees, two trees down from my neighbor's feeder (I wanted my own! besides, they only feed thistle seed, and I feed a mixture, so we have some happy birds at the smorgasbord here), but I've seen hummingbirds around here, and I want to encourage them. They seem to like the morning glories.

Very cool, Trudy.

I really need to stop getting into facebook arguments about Israel. (Not on my page. On my mom's page.) This is going to lead nowhere.

Oh they are great fun to watch. Little Buzz makes so much noise with all her chirping that I can track her to her favorite perches in every tall tree around the house. The only fly in my ointment is having to get black mold out of the feeders.

I should take down the feeder Hubby put up last year, clean it out, think about putting it up this summer.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

The only fly in my ointment is having to get black mold out of the feeders.

I highly recommend pan-style feeders like this one: [link]

Very easy to keep clean.

I think my mom's friend is going to call me an antisemite within another few minutes if I continue this argument. I need to stop. But she's being wrong on the internet.

Our wings are not tired.

Step away, Hil. You can't argue with the crazy. So not worth it.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

I'm thinking about getting a hummingbird feeder or at the very least getting some hummingbird-friendly plants this summer. I love how fierce they are - they have no idea they aren't the size of pterodactyls.
