Ah, Owen. Such a smart boy with such a smart and loving momma. You, too, Plei. It comforts me to know that kids are growing up in such supportive environments.
Add me to the "hates vacuuming" list. The noise! The way it spits stuff back at my feet (all hardwood floors)! Blah. Give me a good podcast and I don't actually mind doing most chores, which doesn't mean they get done in a timely fashion.
I folded and put away clothes from last week's laundry (and purged another pair of socks or two), but did two more loads tonight, so.
You guys! I am so excited! I have been wearing the same pair of increasingly scratched and messed up glasses for about five years, and haven't worn contacts for three because I couldn't afford new glasses or contacts or the exam (I mean, maybe I could have if I were better at budgeting but I'm not). I finally went today (to Costco, of course), and got an exam and bought new glasses and he gave me a bunch of free contacts to try! It felt like ninth grade all over again. I know glasses are a cool thing now but I am thrilled to do exciting things like 1) wear regular sunglasses 2) have eye makeup be visible without setting pigment levels to RuPaul and 3) wear safety glasses instead of those awful chemistry goggle things. And my new glasses are Vera Wang, mostly brown with a gray pattern along the temples, with a subtle cateye shape. Can't wait for them to come in.
Seriously. THRILLED. Also slightly nauseated as my brain adjusts back to contacts and a new prescription, but mostly THRILLED.
