'Dirty Girls'

Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Always Anti-fascist!

If it's on the internet and I don't get it, I know it's a show I don't watch, baseball, or hockey

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

I shall roll my eyes forever at that sort of thing. ETA: this was in response to Hil.

Our wings are not tired.

"It hasn't healed from when I kicked the last person who spoke to me that way." probably isn't a helpful response.

You have to balance helpful with satisfying.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Totally stealing ND's line for the next time I'm in that situation. I'm sorry you had to deal with that, Hil.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I kind of forget about it during the winter, because when I'm wearing long pants, people can't really see the brace. And the past few weeks I was in NY and NJ, and I usually get a lot fewer comments there. I think the only time anyone mentioned it was when someone offered me a seat on the subway. The baby-talk comments seem to be specific to PA, of all the places I've lived. In DC, people would try to tell me about how prayer healed their brother-in-law's friend's aunt's sister.

You of course immediately begged them to tell you more, right?

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Or tell them it's a HIPAA violation for them to even tell you about it.

Gah, HIPAA laws. I think the clinics are applying that to releasing Hubby's own information to him. They certainly don't share it with the other doctors.

21st century small town problems: my mother inadvertently started a bit of a flame war on the facebook group for her town. Now my former French teacher (the crazy one who I had to block) is commenting on the thread. I know she's commenting because I can see other people replying to her by name, but I can't see what she's saying, because I blocked her. Now I'm all curious. (This all started because someone put a campaign sign for some Republican candidate in my mom's front yard, and then my mom posted on the town group about it, saying that she wanted to be sure that no one thought that her family would actually endorse a candidate like that, so she wanted everyone to know that, even though the sign was on her lawn during the morning commute, and a lot of people saw it, it was not hers. And more people probably saw this post than noticed the sign in the first place.)
