Hmph! I've been waiting to find out What Jamaicans Think, and assumed I would get that from you.
Hah! I also saw an article about it earlier today and wondered what ita ! would say. Gotta say, though--more people watching the ad because of the controversy, all free publicity?
No, java, not in a long time. I emailed her a ways back - months ago - but haven't heard.
Thanks, Brenda. I try not to worry but I hope she's okay.
java, I've seen her posts on Shakesville a few times in the last few months, most recently around New Year's. So she seems to be alive and healthy, just, for whatever reason, on a break from b.org. I don't think brenda's the only person who's nudged her, so she must know that she's loved and missed, and that we've left the light on and the key under the mat and she can come back anytime.
Thanks, JZ. It's totally understandable to take the break of whatever length. I was just curious about how she is. Now that you've filled me in, I am content. :)
Thanks, JZ, that eases my mind.
JZ,
thanks for that. I too have wondered, but have not been as assertive as java and brenda about asking.
Thank you all for the birthday wishes! Alas, I spent most of the day at work, as I will be most every day this week. I should have time/opportunity to celebrate this weekend, though.
So Mayim is all for orthodoxy that makes her wear a bathing dress, but not enough for orthodoxy that makes her not write God in her posts? Am confused!
Happy birthday, Anne!

Wait, what? Are you saying she does or doesn't write God? (Because I can think of reasonable explanations for either one. Basically, the "G-d" thing is a tradition, but there's no real religious reason for it. You're not supposed to write the Hebrew name, but there's no real rule against writing it in English.)
