If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Thanks, JZ, that eases my mind.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

JZ,

thanks for that. I too have wondered, but have not been as assertive as java and brenda about asking.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Thank you all for the birthday wishes! Alas, I spent most of the day at work, as I will be most every day this week. I should have time/opportunity to celebrate this weekend, though.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

So Mayim is all for orthodoxy that makes her wear a bathing dress, but not enough for orthodoxy that makes her not write God in her posts? Am confused!

Happy birthday, Anne!

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

So Mayim is all for orthodoxy that makes her wear a bathing dress, but not enough for orthodoxy that makes her not write God in her posts? Am confused!

Wait, what? Are you saying she does or doesn't write God? (Because I can think of reasonable explanations for either one. Basically, the "G-d" thing is a tradition, but there's no real religious reason for it. You're not supposed to write the Hebrew name, but there's no real rule against writing it in English.)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

It seems like it's playing on a sterotype, but in a cute way?

I've never actually seen a stereotype with dialogue written that well. It's a bit of a blend between regular Patois and Rasta Patois, but when the fuck has that ;last come up?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

FFS, I'm trying to watch last night's Justified, but I keep getting distracted by work! I am tired of thinking about this bullshit.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Houston is back on the job-hunting table. I am getting slightly dizzy. It seems pretty promising (again) that either it or ABQ will come through, but I wish the whole thing was over.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Hey, has anyone seen or heard from Kathy A in a while? I wonder how her health is - she was posting regularly after her surgery and then dropped off...

Yeah, I've been concerned about her too.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I will never sleep tonight. I don't think there's enough wine to calm me down at this point.
