It's not only cold out - it's cold in the office, i.e., I'm wearing a wool sweater at my desk. (Admittedly, not the absolute warmest of my wool sweaters - but still.)

Happy Birthday, shrift!
I'm supposed to jump in Lake Michigan on Saturday. All your cold are belong to me.
It's now a balmy 18 degrees here in the hub. Which is an improvement over the 8 degrees it was this morning. Luckily, this is supposed to be coldest it's going to be for the next ten days or so.
I'm supposed to jump in Lake Michigan on Saturday.
Why? It'll still be there in August.
Lemme guess: For charity? Perhaps pooch-related?
Indeedy.
We're trying to raise $25K for Darby's rescue group. Almost there, with little to no thanks to me. Things kind of got away from me this year.
At Foster Beach at 10:30 on Saturday, if anyone local wants to come point and laugh.
I've jumped into nearly ice-cold water once, but there was a sauna next to the pool, which made it doable for me.
This was at a Russian bath house.

I did this at a house party around Thanksgiving one year. In Maine. Amazing how the whole pool generates a fog bank from all the steam that comes off of folks.
Apparently there was another party there around Xmas time where they had to cut holes in the ice to do it. I was NOT there for that one.
Why the pool wasn't drained for winter, I have no idea unless this was a thing to do for the family.
Good luck with that, brenda!
On the local news the other day, they had some Russians doing a Polar Bear Plunge type of thing, and I couldn't figure out why they were showing it from Russia and not Boston, but whatever.
