Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Happy birthday, shrift!

My house is too cold, and we don't have central heating. Heater is on in the den, so it should be better soon. I should do some baking or something to warm up the kitchen.

Lee, I hope you're feeling better after resting.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

my fool child would not wear a proper coat

I'm always amazed. I wore a silk/cashmere sweater today, with a wool skirt and a cashmere wrap under my winter trench coat. And gloves. And yet I saw a woman running for the bus in just a long-sleeved shirt, no jacket! WTF.

Mostly it's the kids, though. Didn't see any today because I guess school is still out. Made the bus ride more pleasant, anyway.

My Reynaud's Syndrome is becoming more obvious: I walked the dogs this morning with my sister, all bundled up, but when I got on the bus my hands started going numb, even though I had gloves on and was dressed warmly. This is annoying.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Was out with friends on Sunday night and their teenager decided a hoodie was warm enough for 40 degrees. He spent a lot of time complaining about the cold, and his parents made fun of his coat choice every time.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I've seen more than one person today walking around in sandals, short skirt, and no tights or stockings. Don't get it, not at all.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

It is flipping cold out here too. I had jacket, scarf and gloves on over heavy jeans and a long sleeve shirt and it was still brrrrrrrrr. Checking NOAA, we are at 20 degrees, with the wind chill bringing us down to 12. I swear I've felt warmer when we were below zero. Weird.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I see the odd shorts and T-shirts around here, and mostly I'm jealous. My Greendale Community College shirt came in, and I want to run around everywhere in it. But instead I'm wishing I'd worn tights under these pants.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I am allergic to penicillin and all derivatives, Clindamycin and Ciprofloxacin, and my doctor always has a hard time finding something for me.

You should still be able to take Keflex, Bactrim, and all the -mycins, like azithromycin (Z-Pak).

signed,
Allergic to the same antibiotics that you are (not technically allergic to ciprofloxacin, but I won't take it again unless I am literally going to die without it)

brillig

Single digits in the morning around here, the price of no cloud cover and lots of sunshine. Of course, that also brings us the winter inversion, when the cold air holds the smog in the valleys. Hopefully that will clear out before the breathing advisories start.
