I can't believe I likely talked my stepmom into watching Scandal. It's a good show and I really love it but omg cunniligus was not what I expected when I told her she should watch. In general, I'm a big fan. Just I sort of thought it'd be clothes and no real politics chatting. Now there's cunniligus . Still I love the show. I just wish I only talked about it with you guys and not parentals.
and now I'm watching plague shows on the Science channel
Which are awesome!
I am landed in Houston! Now to get a good nights rest before continuing on to Dallas. And then to Indy. Ugh. Such a freaking trek.
This is only my second time being in charge of a tree, and the tree we got came from the grocery store next door with a wooden cross attached to the bottom. This seems impossible to keep in water. Is it ok if it is just nailed to the base, unwatered for like 15 days?

It's going to get very dry and the needles will start to fall off and make a mess.
You can get a cheap plastic stand that's cruciform and you just drop the damn thing in it and water it. It's not ideal but it will work.
Most of the trees we had when i was a kid had the cross attached. We always pulled the cross off and then put it in a tree stand
It's nailed in there good. Spent a while trying to pry it off.
Pull it off of the cross and then get a stand, if you can. It'll live a lot longer. Basically, trees (as living things) need water. If you water it, it'll be happy.
I can remember my dad breaking out the sledge hammer one year for that reason.
Maybe going back next door to the grocery store first and asking for suggestions would be easier.
Grocery store said to try to hammer it off, like Lee suggested. So we'll try that next.
