Natter 71: Someone is wrong on the Internet
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
my supervisor took me aside and told me that I should accept a party gracefully, because depriving my coworkers of cake and an hour or two away from their desks was just selfish of me.
Sparky, this hit a nerve for me because I flat out rejected the idea of a party. I did not want one and would not participate in one. I think parties are wonderful and may leave people with wonderful memories and feelings, but if someone doesn't want to have one, I'm not sure that is a selfish thing necessarily. Must we demand everything be a public/semi-public event. Sometimes it is nice to just be and maintain the relationships you choose.
In today's adrenaline rush news, Dillo and I nearly got hit by someone coming out of the school driveway (like, nearly enough that the bumper was against my legs and my hands were on the hood while I was screaming.) And the driver waved and drove off. And Dillo thinks it was the PreK teacher. WTF? Please tell me if you tapped a woman and a 6 year old with your car you would at least stop and apologize.
flea,
OMG. of course I would. that's terrible.
You know, Lee has actually made this easy for me, and here's why: Joshua Jackson is delicious with Diane Kruger, so I wouldn't want to break them up. Matt Bomer is happily married with children (and wouldn't be into me anyway). And Chris Hemsworth is ... also married but I'm going to ignore that.
F = Joshua Jackson
C = Matt Bomer (but let's be friends!)
M = Chris Hemsworth (yum)
OMG. of course I would. that's terrible.
In fact, I did. I was backing out of my driveway the other day when there was a noise and I stopped and hopped out, and there was a woman with a toddler in a stroller behind my car. Everyone was fine, nobody was hurt, we were both horrified and startled, and the kid didn't seem to have noticed anything (yay). I still apologized profusely, since I was the idiot in the car.
There's a tree at the side of my driveway that can block my view, and the woman was wearing headphones and not paying attention: we were both a bit at fault, I suspect, and no harm done.
But I'll be extra-careful about backing out for a long time to come...
My boss didn't, I was told "because it would be too expensive", yet I was expected to contribute to a gift for him. For Chrimstas and his birthday and for Boss's day (at least contribute for cake on Boss's Day)...
Oh HELL no! I don't do more than sign birthday and Boss' Day cards for my bosses, and they're my cousins!
F = Chris Hemsworth (just look at him!)
C = Joshua Jackson (I've heard STI rumors)
M = Matt Bomer (swings my way, and I just watched Magic Mike over the weekend)
Another one, since Amy thought that one was so easy
FCM:
Tom Hardy
Jeffrey Dean Morgan
Idris Elba
(Sidenotes: a) I really wanted to make one of these Blake Shelton, just for Amy [link] b) The admin manager came in to give me my Holiday card/bonus just as I was doing looking at Mr. Shelton. Oops)
Oooh.
Elba: M (oh yes!)
Morgan: C. (especially after watching a horrible movie he was in)
Hardy: F (oh yes!)
Flea, no you turn tail and run because that's an awful thing to do and you can't face yourself and you're a cowardly little shit, OR APPARENTLY YOU WAVE AND COME BACK TO WORK THE NEXT DAY. Whichever. They're both totally plausible.
I'm not sure how you guys are looking at those three guys and making all the wrong decisions. I mean, I know Chris Hemsworth can do all this sort of bullshit: [link] but we're talking a)
PACEY
grown into full manhood, and b) [link] . Good lord, people. Chuck the blond, and do whatever you can get away with with the other two.
You know, I still believe that Tom Hardy is a heartbeat away from a public embarrassing meltdown, also I don't think my muscles would work if we were in the same room, so I'm going to
chuck Tom Hardy.
I am going to proceed to drown my sorrows in screwing the daylights out of Idris Elba, and then waking up most mornings next to Papa Winchester Jeffrey Dean ! (he's taking my surname).
