It's simple. I slap 'em around a bit, torture 'em, make their lives hell...Sure, the nice guys'll run away, but every now and then you'll find a prince like Spike who gets off on it.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Ugh, I feel like crap. Is is still possible to be affected by allergies? The alternative of a summer cold five days before my interview is scaring me.

Yes, allergies are still kicking my ass.

Punishingly Intricate

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I'm still at my parents' for another few days, and I told them I'd make dinner tonight, which means I've got to go out to the grocery store to buy a few things. I so don't want to go outside.

It's supposed to be cooler by Sunday, though, which is when I'm going to the vintage carnival with my sister.

I do have to say, for once in my life, I have done a good job wrapping a present: I wrapped the books and box in nice paper, then got a coordinating ribbon and tied it all together and THEN a coordinating gift bag to carry it all in!

Health~ma to your sister, Burrell.

Comfortingly established that it's not possible to get into our locked apartment doors with a credit card last night. Sucks for across-the-hall neighbor who had to spend a night elsewhere drunkenly cursing his (ex?) boyfriend, who took his keys and left town, but I feel more secure. I briefly considered trying to go all safecracker with the smallest Allen hex key on my multi-set, but didn't want to foot the bill for a ruined lock if I messed up.
